Another clear out needed?

Needs to be some realism. We can probably bring in 3 or 4 players a season, and of course they won't all work out. We may not got many takers for some of our players, so we either take a big loss on them or they stay until contract expires.

Assuming a new manager comes in, he is going to have to work with most of the current squad, so he needs a pragmatic approach of trying to make us tighter defensively and more clinical up front. Simple job really

Should be actively pushing for Rashford to go, makes no sense otherwise. Served his club well, in need of a new challenge to reinvigorate his love for the game.

They can listen to offers but no other club is going to pay those ridiculous wages you are paying some of them.

Rookie move from Jim.

Id keep

Onana
Shaw
Martinez
Dalot
Mainoo
Mount
Bruno
Garnacho
Hojlund

And happily sell the rest, If it meant we could build a young, talented, well balanced squad.

Yes, I don’t see him turning it around to any great extent.

They don't have to pay them. Some players aren't about to waste a big part of their career in a toxic, jnderachieving, environment on the bench kn some cases, for a few million pounds more over the course of 5 years.

Don't disagree with that list Mount I'm not sure of but he is just here and been injured so should at least get a chance to see if he can do better

Shaw and Martinez are crocks. They should be back up players if they stay.

This sounds like bad strategy at first glance. I thought things would be different under Ratcliffe.

Didn't Maguire turn down West Ham in the end because the money was a lot less than his United contract?

You might get rid of Casimero who seems to be twerking for Saudi league but you won't be able to get rid of Sancho, Rashfords etc

But the manager was publicly telling him he wanted Maguire to stay. He won't be doing that if the squad is up for sale.

Surely this wouldn't be decided without Berrada and Ashworth?

A clear out is fine, but the bigger issue who they’re bringing in.

Until we sort that out and approach things progressively then we’re stuffed.

That is of course affected by ownership and capital investment.

Good. We’ve held onto so many of these wasters for too long.

Varane, LIndleof, Maguire, Casemiro, Eriksen, Rashford and Sancho should the priorities to be sold and replaced.

Antony?

Or did you just not bother to include him as we wouldn't be able to give him away? 😂

Maguire will still be here next season too. No way we are selling / releasing 3 CB's in same window.

Varane and Lindelof should go. I'd keep Harry for another season as he's better than Lindelof and he can actually stay fit.

Doesn’t exactly rule it out. A substantial bid would be a fiver and a packet of peanuts.

You’d imagine outgoings will depend on which European competition we are in, if at all. I think we’d be better off being out of Europe altogether for a season to really trim the squad down.

Wouldn't write Martinez off as a crock yet. Obviously been a tough 12 months but let's see how he gets on next season. Shaw is another matter but won't have takers with his injury record anyway. He does have the odd season where he somehow manages to stay completely fit, let's hope next year is one of those.

Bar probably Mount I actually completely agree with that list from RDD...

And fwiw, I think the bigger concern for Martinez is us hiring a manager who isn't comfortable with a 5ft9 centre back, which I think is quite possible.
