Ten Hag out - still

Ten Hag wins trophies, there are no managers available that personally excite me enough to say goodbye to him.

The season has been a bad one, there's no doubt about it, but I wouldn't sack him to bring in an ordinary coach, someone who's a massive gamble or a someone like Pochettino who is frankly a serial loser.

If he gets sacked he can have no complaints but none of the potential replacements fill me with excitement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I guess the questions are:

would you rather ETH stay or have Poch, Tuchel or McKenna (I will keep it to those 3)

Who would fill you with excitement?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
None would but I’d rather give ETH his last year and see how it goes instead of appointing any of those.

Of course he deserves another season.
Yesterday showed how we can play with out two main CBs. Next were Harry and Lindeolof. Finally Casemiro and Evans
Shaw out, , plus various others.
A new keeper trying to fit in, a new young striker. Two teenagers, who both scored, introduced.
Two trophies and a final.
Come on Robb, cut him some slack as the saying goes.

And is there anyone around that 'fills you with excitement'?

Either way, I’m fairly certain he won’t be our manager this time next week. Seems fairly clear he’s going based on what he said after the match

posted on 26/5/24

What he said in case people didn’t see…

"If they don't want me, then I go somewhere else to win trophies because that is what I do."

Seems like he knows what’s coming

I disagree Robb. The return of our CBs showed what we have been missing.
Our two teenagers, who both scored, show that he can be trusted with the potential from the academy.
City weren't poor, we made them look poor.

Yeah looks like he's gone

The board is probably holding off on making an announcement to let everyone enjoy the win

Genuinely curious.... Varane is leaving so who replaces him? Martinez can't be relied upon really, based on experience.

I suppose the question is do you base everything on what happened yesterday, or what has generally happened the rest of the season?

Everything fell right for us yesterday, but the team won't always perform like that, and I mean more in terms of effort and cohesion. This season we have been probably 50% less than what we produced yesterday for most of our games.

This may be harsh, but yesterday looked like a team that sensed the occasion and decided to put it all in - but we can't just play every season with that attitude, and it's too simplistic to blame injuries.

Yesterday's result will have swayed minds, because we are humans and until something actually happens, we don't know how it will effect us.

But looking at things overall, I can't just forget what has happened all season, so I still don't think ETH should stay.

But as i have said preivously somewhere, if he does stay, i still support him etc

A mixture of a new signing and Maguire. Kambwala and either of Evans or Lindelof. If we can get in 2 CBs, then both Evans and Lindelof go

Honestly all 3 need to go asap.

People are jizzing over the varane and Martinez partnership saying look what Eth can do with two decent cbs. Yah well we ain't ever seeing that cb pairing ever again and Martinez is a crock.

The remaining cbs are a joke.

Some have been crying out for a considered, planned approach under a DOF, and now want to sack our current manager, before the DOF can get in the door.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What makes you think the DoF even wants Ten Hag? There’s every chance they always planned for Ten Hag to go and they could get in their guy which makes total sense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We don’t know, do we.

My point is, why ask for a DOF and then demand decisions without them.

We were always going to need a replacement for Varane and a bit early to be writing off martinez

Honestly, I am fine with Maguire, more as a back-up. Kambwala will improve. I would rather we brought in 2 new CBs, but other areas also need improving, so it depends where we prioritise. Therefore i can see one new CB coming in, and one of Lindelof / Evans staying for another year. But we all know that's in the short-term.

But there seems to be a lot of over-egging on wht could have been with Varane and Martinez, but we never will see with Varane now, and Martinez just needs to stay fit.

Yes. Maguire as a backup is fine for me. As a starting player, no chance.
Martinez I love what he brings to the team and hope he stays fit, but I am not confident.
Two new CBs is important this summer.

The initial injury though Robb if i rememberwas just one of those awkward coming together. Unlucky and nothing ten hagg had control over

And after Varane and Licha we went to Harry and Lindeolof, and jade yo finish with casemiro and Evans
Onana took time to settle, but all that in front of him surely didn't help.
Shaw out as well. Rashford off form.
Greenwood, Sancho and Ronaldo to deal with.
Has he made mistakes? You betcha, which manager doesn't.
None of the three you mentioned are sure to be better.
Next season, with a little luck on the injury front we could finish much higher and with more youth.

Finally people say all teams get injuries, of course they do, but it depends on the numbers and importance.
It's said by ETH out posters to gloss over how bad it's been.
