We had 26% possession and parked the bus and broke.

If that is what you think you saw, then we will have to agree to disagree Robbsie.

I saw pretty much the same thing nearly all the tactical analysts came up with after the match.

We had 11 shots overall, 5 of them on target. That is not parking the bus no matter how you try to spin it.

I saw a manager unable to go toe to toe with the best manager in the world against arguably one of the best teams in the world. ETH utilised a pragmatic approach, closing space, nullifying City's ability to pick passes, harrying and hassling them into errors. Yes, we conceded possession but most teams do against City. The second goal alone was straight out of Pep's playbook. It was stunning. We rode our luck at times, in cup games it happens.

Robb simply does not understand what he's watching.

And there will probably be even more disagreement after Ineos make their decision.......

Yep.

Let's see what good can come out of a pro structure and a focussed transfer strategy. Heaven forbid we may actually get our sh!te together, things may start to click. These players have now experienced 3 finals and secured 2 cups, they may have ambitions for bigger things.

People seem to forget how awful we’ve been and magically think after two years Ten Hag has any sort of plan other than park the bus in the big games.

What have you been watching?

Yes, parking the bus in the big games. Our tactics against City, Arsenal and Liverpool have been to sit back, absorb pressure and counter attack. It’s worked to various levels over the season and worked at its very best in the final and as a plan executed ETH very much deserves credit.

However it’s not really those games that have made ETH outers wonder if he’s good enough. It’s in the many games against smaller sides where we don’t just struggle to break down our opposition but we leave monstrous gaps in the midfield for anyone from Spurs to Sheffield United to run through unabated.

Let’s put it this way - we played very well against Liverpool to beat them in the cup. Did we push on? Nope, we didn’t win any of our next 5 games. Had the season kept going I’m fairly certain we’d have had the same issues despite our win over City.

Ten Hag doesn’t seem to have any plan of action to fix the issues. What is he going to do with one more season? Buy more players? His record is awful. Set us up better in the smaller games? Based on what?

As for the likes of Robb, he likes to act calm and cool but if you wind him up in just the right way he'll filter you for 12 months. Not at all what he seems you see.

For me I just asked him why is he posting about his cr4p music taste every day about 12 months ago. Filtered by him ever since lol

I think you should probably just keep him at this point

he's shiiit, but it seems like most of your fans want him to stay. means whoever comes in will probably have to make an immediate impact or else people will be unhappy, and the managerial market isn't very inspiring so that seems unlikely.

may as well give him a bit more rope so he can hang himself and everyone is on the same page about need for change

Just to be clear here - I’m genuinely not bagging out Ten Hag for using that tactic, I’d be even more Ten Hag out if he didn’t do it. It was the right thing to do and even if we’d have lost I’d still have commended him for playing that way with the players we have.

My issue isn’t the cup final at all. As Kinsang said, in knock out football anything can happen and you have to set up correctly. It doesn’t change how badly we set up in other games though.

We have certainly been set up badly for a lot of games. I just take issue with the idea that we are parking the bus in most games. You don't get cut through as easily as we have this season when you are parking the bus.

"Rightly"?

How does 3 finals, 2 cup wins in 2 years equate to a right to remove ETH given our scatter gun transfer strategy, given lack of DoF, given our ownership consists of money hungry clowns?

Why reset now, when we are on the precipice of something potentially good?

Yes, I understand the style and quality of footy on show has been poor. But ETH has been forced to adopt pragmatism over what he genuinely believes in due to key members of his squad missing through long term injury. Squad generally lacking key attributes to play possession based footy and control. Look what difference Licha made in the final! That's if you were able to appreciate his and Varane's performance through the rivers of tears you were shedding!
