I think you should probably just keep him at this point
he's shiiit, but it seems like most of your fans want him to stay. means whoever comes in will probably have to make an immediate impact or else people will be unhappy, and the managerial market isn't very inspiring so that seems unlikely.
may as well give him a bit more rope so he can hang himself and everyone is on the same page about need for change
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No matter what they say, the board will do what they think is best, rarely does fans' feelings come into it.
As for the managerial market, I think there are enough names out there to be considered and you just don't know what will happen until someone is in the job (most of us was very excited about ETH coming in)
If we do end up sticking with ETH, I want him to do well - I don't see the point in being bitter if we don't agree with a decision, ultimately we want the team to be successful.

New start, new manager
People seem to forget how awful we’ve been and magically think after two years Ten Hag has any sort of plan other than park the bus in the big games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Parking the bus?
What have you been watching?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, parking the bus in the big games. Our tactics against City, Arsenal and Liverpool have been to sit back, absorb pressure and counter attack. It’s worked to various levels over the season and worked at its very best in the final and as a plan executed ETH very much deserves credit.
However it’s not really those games that have made ETH outers wonder if he’s good enough. It’s in the many games against smaller sides where we don’t just struggle to break down our opposition but we leave monstrous gaps in the midfield for anyone from Spurs to Sheffield United to run through unabated.
Let’s put it this way - we played very well against Liverpool to beat them in the cup. Did we push on? Nope, we didn’t win any of our next 5 games. Had the season kept going I’m fairly certain we’d have had the same issues despite our win over City.
Ten Hag doesn’t seem to have any plan of action to fix the issues. What is he going to do with one more season? Buy more players? His record is awful. Set us up better in the smaller games? Based on what?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeh I don't think you understand what is meant by parking the bus really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s an awful lot that Robb doesn’t understand to be fair.
Although I did see that Australia has these buses that turn into trains so on this occasion I can see why he’s confused.
SAF even defended deep and looked to counter in some games and that's when we were the best team in the PL.
ETH does need to sort out his game plan for next season though and not let us be cut open quite as much. Perhaps a quicker CB and more mobile DM/CM will help with that?
If Erik is sacked then I don't think he can have too many complaints but, by the same token, if he's kept on I can see why that would be the decision too.

United, as Pep quite rightly said, have always been a transition team. We go direct, pass, pass, pass goal. That’s our DNA. Which is also why we have struggled in recent years as the patient buildup play is not our DNA.
The goals against Arsenal in 2004-2005 at Highbury I think exemplify our play very well. Go for the jugular!

We've never been a pure possession based club, it's always been about counter attacks predominantly.

Our style under Fergie was mostly crossing. Get it wide to Beckham or Giggs. If they can't cross it then lay back to full back to cross. If they can't cross, get Scholes or Fletcher to cross. It was a lot of crossing.

I would argue your DNA is playing winning football, hence why you were happier to sit deeper in certain games when it was demanded. and if you want to tap into that DNA and get back to winning, that means evolving and adapting to the times.
can't just throw your hands up and say "well it's not in our DNA" whenever you drop points against sides that park the bus against you and force you to have 80% possession

You could try to argue that but it wouldn’t work.
Our DNA refers to a regular style of football and for us that was quick attacks in transition. Just because we were able to play deep when needed doesn’t mean that our DNA wasn’t what I’m saying.
Nobody is just throwing their hands up saying ‘this isn’t our DNA’. But we haven’t been good enough at adapting to being more successful when in slower buildup plays and most of the possession.

Although I did see that Australia has these buses that turn into trains so on this occasion I can see why he’s confused.

Antony needs to be replaced definitely. Would be good to see more of Amad next season

You're remembering goals against arsenal and not bottom half sides for a reason. you can't play on the counter every week
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think we know that but it’s been a major part of our DNA whether playing a top team or a lower team. Direct, straight to goal in transition. Like Pep said

Rooney pretty much echoed this in the studio on Saturday

And he correctly predicted 1-2 United

Our style under Fergie was mostly crossing. Get it wide to Beckham or Giggs. If they can't cross it then lay back to full back to cross. If they can't cross, get Scholes or Fletcher to cross. It was a lot of crossing.

Sure but it was quick, in transition. For the most part, not always of course.

Barry isn't too wrong there. Was a lot of that to be honest
