I can see why they’re keeping him on for now but the reports that we’re discussing a contract extension seem completely unnecessary.

Let’s just hope Erik has no say on transfers this summer.

If he signs a new contract and then we crash and burn again next season it's going to be more embarrassing than ever before.

There's no excuses for him anymore. He's got to deliver a much better season and standard of football and stop saying stupid things like conceding 30 shots a game is perfectly fine.

I hope he proves me wrong as I want to see my team win and compete at the top of the league again. Still not convinced he's going to work out though but we shall find out. There's no excuses and hiding places next season.

I'm pleased. I can't predict the future, as I've proved on occasions, but I think he's done enough to earn next season.
Many say that one game shouldn't influence you, why not?.
He finished the season with a bang, won the last two league games, and then did what no one predicted, won the final in style.
Two trophies in two years is worth having, and I think the players respect him.

Makes sense that they’d extend the contract after deciding to keep him. The manager doesn’t need the distraction of operating under the cloud of a one year contract.

The media would bring it up every chance they got.

I think after the Tuchel and Poch news broke it looked likely he would stay. I wasn't confident he would do until then personally especially since we had radio silence from the club.

He's got no excuses next season. We can't be finishing 30pts off the top again.

Let’s be honest, the alternative was Southgate.

Interesting one, though. This is the first time we’ve actually kept the manager after a crap season. Let’s hope that means they’ll be looking at a lot of these players that can’t hide behind blaming the manager for poor form.

I disagree.

Even with the injuries we had he chose to play a style of football that made us easier to play against and beat. Hence the 30 shots a game.

The final few games we went more defensive in preparation for the final and we won all 3 games this proving my point.

ETH didn't help our cause last season at times despite being unlucky with injuries. He made us too easy to.play against hence my doubts on him.
