I can see why they’re keeping him on for now but the reports that we’re discussing a contract extension seem completely unnecessary.
Let’s just hope Erik has no say on transfers this summer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If he signs a new contract and then we crash and burn again next season it's going to be more embarrassing than ever before.
There's no excuses for him anymore. He's got to deliver a much better season and standard of football and stop saying stupid things like conceding 30 shots a game is perfectly fine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The happiest people at this news are opposition fans, Plump and Notsocleverson 😂

If being right is more important to you than supporting the club and the decisions the club makes, along with deriving amusement from being right, then you should probably reassess why you actually bother supporting Man Utd.

Good. He was testing all of our patience but I do think that 3 years is a much fairer amount of time for a manager to prove himself.
We can blame the managers every time as much as we want but Jose put it well to be honest and this is still the case now. Our players are not good enough to compete with City/Real Madrid, miles away…

Billy I believe we broke the record for most shots to win the FA Cup in the whole history of the competition. Lasy year also I believe was the most shots for a team to end up losing it.
Man Utd had higher XG than every opponent in this seasons FA Cup.
I wouldn't have shed a single tear had he been sacked but, strangely perhaps, I'm all in with this decision.
I had major doubts about ETH last season but I sincerely hope he makes me eat my words. That means United are doing well.
Let's hope for a decent transfer window and a good start to next season.
A structured approach, a set system, players fitness, less shots against us and notable development of the squad and I'll be happier, if ETH can achieve this I'll be happier, time will tell

This could be a really tough season for you guys if they’ve made that decision for the right reasons. The key bit will be if they still keep with him after what’s to come if they’ve kept him for the reasons they should have.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This has fried my brain!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah it did me too typing it, it’s a hard thing to articulate!
I’ll try againTen Haag has it in him to be a great coach. To do that, he’s got to change from pragmatism and results to implementing the system he really wants to. To do that, he’s got to give up getting the occasional results and focus on building the squad more and start building the patterns now even if you haven’t got the players to do it.
That might mean you still finish eighth next year but also lose against a team like us in a final. It still might mean more progress has been made than this year though depending on how he plays it and what your squad turns in to.
The key decision then isn’t now, it’s are you recognising progress in the performances and give him a year or two off from the results.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This will never happen. The club and fans do not have the patience to ignore results. Not that I think they have to anyway, if the recruitment is right.

INEOS have managed to implement a culture of failure. No top club would keep this pathetic manager based on what happened last season. It's just accepting failure.
I'm also told they were split on sacking him right up until last night.
Ratcliffe wanted him out
Ashworth wanted him out
Berrada wanted him to stay
Brailsford wanted him to stay
I'm also told the 'two B's' persuaded Ratcliffe yesterday in meetings to keep him and give him another go. The decision right up until the end of those meetings was that ETH was sacked.
Pathetic, weak decision makers.
How can Ratcliffe be some ruthless businessman if he's changing his mind at the last minute on this fraud manager.
The fact INEOS were split on keeping him will emerge when we start to lose more games again next season, just wait and see.
I'm done with this club. Need to take a break from United and all of this now. Least the Euros will be a welcome distraction. We are simply accepting horrendous performance and rewarding failure.
Ten Hag out.
