Jimmy will probably be happy of extending his number of not outs record. His average will stay at 8.96, if he got to 6*, he would have fo finished on 9. Couldn't even get to play a Burnley Lara cover drive for the last time or a reverse sweep to get the crowd going mad. Will have to get a hattrick in this final session of the day now.
Wanted to see Burnley Lara.
A wicket for Jimmy then a 200th Test wicket for Stokes to add to his 6,000 Test runs. Only Sobers and Kallis have done it before.
Will Bash get a bowl at all?

that was Jimmys last test innings. not facing 1 bal.. Can't see him needing to bat again

open him if so
2 day test match, thoughts with Sandy
Can't believe these lads won at The Gabba. They've been so poor with the bat although England have been very good with the ball.
Another one for Jimmy. WI 56-5.

Don't think test cricket is as popular in West Indies these days, white ball franchise cricket is were the money is, other sports also are taking over

Tomorrow will be the final day we see Jimmy in an England shirt. It's gone too quickly. Damn you West Indies for being so poor! Would be great if he could sign off with a 5fer but hopefully he just gets the last wicket as he can't catch Warney now anyway.
I don’t want him to retire.
Forcing him to retire all because he probably won't play in a series 2 years away.
He's clearly still one of the best bowlers we have.
And then let him overtake Warne.
Great delivery by Jimmy earlier to get yet another wicket. Now 11 wickets in the match for Atkinson!
Lil bit cocky going with one hand.....looked a lil bit nonchalant

I can see the logic tbh. When conditions don't suit him nowadays he can be very blunt. The transition needs to start sooner or later and it's not like we can use substitutes to get young bowlers match experience like you can in football. I'm glad he's being given the opportunity to go out on a high too, rather than it being dragged out for sentimental reasons long after the decline sets in.
All that said, it still sucks to see him go.
I wish he had decided to retire at the end of the summer at least, rather than after this test match.
England win. 12 for Atkinson!
