Said yesterday England's total was not impressive on this pitch
England toiling away in the field in the heat here.
Least it's good practice for Australia

Pitch is definitely flatter today and it was expected that it would play out this way. Despite the criticism of Brathwaite choosing to bowl, I'm certain Stokes would have as well knowing batting may well be at its best on days 2 and 3.
If only we had a player with an abundance of experience to lead this attack and keep things tight when the rest are struggling.

What...in one day l...oh come on
still 3 days to go..still think England will win
Great day for the Windies yesterday to be fair to them...never imagined they'd even last the day on their last performance
Couple of early wickets. WI 363-7.
Some big hits by Shamar Joseph and WI lead. 426-9.
If the windies can get England a couple or more down before England take the lead then they will fancy themselves to win this.
Poor from England how did they conceed that many runs
The West Indies love a comeback after a demoralising loss in the first test.
England will have clarity of thought in trying to post 300+ on the board and setting West Indies of a target of something over 250 though. Whether that's enough or whether they execute this we will see.
Run out backing up. Always seems a bit unlucky but it's avoidable.
Crawley's wicket has got us going in both innings so far so his impact has been noticeable.
Another 150+ runs tomorrow please.
I wasn't really able to follow today. Any reason why Hodge didn't bowl?

Ordinarily you'd say bat 2 sessions and give yourself 4 sessions to bowl them out or something along those lines. I just wonder whether Stokes will offer something around the 330-340 mark as a bit of a carot though. If we are no more than 5 down at that point and it's not long after lunch, it will definitely create a lot of discussion.
Ton for Brook, 50 for Root.
So what’s the plan then? Presumably get a 400 lead by tea and then declare? Maybe a 2-3 over spell before tea?
England need to be careful here. They can not afford a collapse as there is nowhere near enough runs on the board.
