Happy Deadline Transfer Window Shut Day

Going to be a pretty average window really. Doesn’t look like we are being very aggressive with the amount we have spent at all given the sales.

They must be pretty confident we have enough because a failure this season will cost the 49ers a fortune as it will get a lot harder to go up after this season.

I think we will win the league anyway but if I were the owner I would not be brave enough to not make a marquee signing I knew would make a big difference against the low block.

With respect to easy listening -

Elton John Tumbleweed Connection anyone?

Bogle - been garbage so far
Tanaka - risky, Asians notorious for taking a while to settle in english football
Solomon - Cripple
Ramazania — looks good on paper
Rothwell - couldnt get in saints side.

Very very underwhelmed.

Another summer, where we havent prepared for the season properly.

Scrambling in the last week of transfer window.

I think we're still a top 6 team. Sheff U look very
good on paper. They've won the window. Who
knows now which team will actually go get the
title. I hope its us. But not overly confident.

No 10. And our back up 9 is Bamford. Keepers
a fire drill waiting to happen backed up by
another fire drill and a old veteran. Injuries
to key players could still kill us. However, we
did keep Gnonto. Lets see what Farke can do.

So we weren't good enough to get promoted with Summerville and Rutter, so what have we done differently in this window? Can't say we've move forwards, only sideways, hoping that the league is weaker.

Solomon > Anthony (IF FIT)

Razarani - Would be signing of the season if he's as good as or better than Summerville

Tanaka - Same level as the rest of our CM's, does improve depth though.

As for the rest, Rodon was already here, the rest are just meh.

Very disappointed that we didn't reinvest the Rutter money on a number 10. Its got Leeds 0-1 Sheff U (Hamer 89' written all over it 😅

Kebab, no Schmidt on this list - is that still going to happen?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was that ever on? Bit bizarre, he plays in Turkey last night and today he is jetting across Europe, stopping for a refuel, for a medical to sign for us. It's one of those paper talk signings. No substance in it.

Have we signed Schmidt or haven’t we???

Just breaking away from all things LUFC related for a moment I find it very curious that no top EPL team has tried to buyToney..I wonder if some other factor is the reason like one rumour I read was he isn't a very popular individual in the changing room and can creates a bad vibe????

That one's happening.

If Wober stays then I suppose our owners may feel Schmidt wouldn't be needed but both Wober and Firpo's injury record should still warrant this signing not to mention Byram's iffy injury record too.

posted on 30/8/24

Apparently Schmidt being announced around 10. Wober staying would atleast keep Amps in midfield not have to drop back.

I've only just seen Hull have signed Palmer from Coventry.... that's a game changing player who I hope isn't eligible to play against us tomorrow.

both largie and tanaka in last years of contracts with no evidence that clubs wanted to extend, its not as if we're pulling off some showstoppers here.

Hope that they do well, but we've not been aiming high.

20 goals at 27, flatters to deceive.

Totally underwhelming window, lots of gambles, OK, every transfer is a gamble, but potentially this is not adding the quality we need. I am sceptical, hope these new players prove me wrong, but…..we need promotion this season, bottom line!

posted on 30/8/24

I have been reading on several occasions on other social media platforms that the actual amount of money the club has brought in in player sales this summer is just under £140 million and the amount the owners have spent is actually only just over £27 million....not
including the Schmidt deal which would then push that
figure up to about £30milion spent.

Watford seem to be signing some good players... Jebbison from Bournemouth the latest.

posted on 30/8/24

We could have signed Tanaka and Schmidt weeks ago surely? Why leave it so late, they should already he up to speed now, not just joining. Gruev didn't get going until late in the year.

Agree with all the above. Very disappointing. Only bit of silver lining is that Burnley have been hammered with their squad leaving us with a clear path to top 2.

Maybe Farke felt confident (arrogant) with what he’s got. He better deliver - no BS will be accepted

Excluding loan fees I make it appoximately this over last couple of seasons

Incomings - £60m
Outgoings - £165m
