We have enough quality within the squad to expect that an improvement in how we perform will naturally lead to better results and moving up the table.

Yes, I have stated in the past that I'd want the performances before the results but it seems I've failed the first test! If performances do get better through the season though then I'd expect the results to pick up too.

I think our performances have already much better in and out of possession than what we’ve seen the last year.

If we had some attackers that were any good the scores would look a lot different, but here we are.

I look at our players, both last season and the additions, and I think, ok, we don't have anyone truly world class, but there are still some decent players in there. We should be playing so much more attractively, the team should be looking a lot more coherent, and we should be capable of giving some teams a good doing - we seem to be grind grind grind, we should have a number of games where we are hammering the opposition by 3+ goals and just look unbeatable - there is none of that under ETH.

His effort is great, he cares deeply, but he just lacks certain skills.

I keep banging on about Ang and Poch, but right now that is the type of manager these players need, to enjoy the game and express themselves.

I genuinely don't think it is doing ETH any good being here - he needs a break also, because he has had a lot to cope with also, more than what most managers have.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you watch our attackers and think this? They continually fack up easy chances and good opportunities to create.

This is something they’ve been doing for a long time. Our solution this summer was to sign Zirkzee and not bring in anyone else to help the attack.

I don't think our attackers are bad players, but they seem to lack confidence. I also feel that because we were so open last season, and often letting in more than 1 goal a game, it seemed to put more pressure on us to score. And in certain games we should be able to dominate to the extent that we create enough chances so it doesn't matter if we miss a whole load of them.

It's simply a squad who seem to be playing under a cloud all the time, and you can feel the anxiety in the team. Should players take more responsibility? Of course they should, but the buck lies with the manager at the end of the day.

I mean take Zirkzee's 2 chances - it seemed more difficult to miss than to score. But of course we should have brought in a striker, I'm not sure why we didn't go for Toney, even Bowen wouldn't have been a bad option.

But I do look at out players and don't understand why we struggle to score goals, we should be full of them

We've not been terrible I agree. Perhaps it's losing to Liverpool that's the issue. After all I did think they actually were better at OT last season but just couldn't kill the game off.

Hopefully we get some of our attackers starting to fire sooner rather than later and things will get better. The frustrating thing is that we have seen much better on occasion from them all.

Look up the goalscoring records of our players and you’ll figure out why.

Rashford and Bruno are the only players with any kind of history of scoring goals at a decent level, and they just aren’t as good as they were a few seasons ago. And then you have to look at the creative numbers of our players, which is another massive issue.

It’s not like these players are scoring and creating loads outside of United either, whether it’s for their previous clubs or for the national team (most of them barely play for their national team because they’ve not proven themselves to be reliable picks for their country).

I think there’s issues in the team and around the club that you touch upon that are worthy of discussion, but ultimately when your attacking options as a group are average then you’ll struggle to score and create goals with any consistency, which stops you winning games comfortably.

Well yeah because there is talent there so on occasion we will see it. But it cannot be relied upon to consistently produce. It’s not surprising given the level of the more proven players, and the lack of experience of the younger ones, but then it shouldn’t really surprise people when this is the case.

An Istanbul based journalist (don't know how credible) is claiming Galatasaray are in talks to take Casemiro on loan for one year. Can't see that happening unless there's someone else in mind for United. A free agent perhaps?

This team would be transformed by someone who could score goals consistently.

It's soul destroying playing for a team with a sh!!!!!t striker who misses chance after chance.
As soon as United has a player who can score us goals, the mood around the place will be so much better.

United have a whole generation of United fans born in the 80s who saw the formation of the PL and what came with it in the Fergie years for United, 'for granted'

70s people remember the dark years between 1968 to 1992 which included a relegation for United and Liverpool dominance. Whch is why we will never take anything for granted when it comes to United.
