My fountain of useless information son tells me that we've not beaten a club that's still the Premier League for over 6 months. Fulham back in March that would be.
No disputing that we’re struggling for results and over the next few games it could well get worse. Yet at times today we looked a really good team
Toti missed yesterdays game with what’s described as a slight hamstring problem and Ait Nouri went off with an ankle injury. Andre and Semedo were both took off with exhaustion and GON clearly felt that the loss of Semedo was key to conceding the second goal
I would say that i think most of us expected a tough start given the fixtures though. It just doesn't look good on paper. Pretty sure GON will get November before any rash decisions are made. Those games are where we will be fully ready for expected to start to pick up wins. If not then it would be the end for him.
The fact we still currently rely on 34 year old, journeyman Centre Back Matt Dawson in our seventh season back in the PL tells you everything you need to know about the current problems.
He kicked the ball out of play when under no pressure just before the Geordie Arabia goal, you don't get away with it in the PL.
Form table is starting to make grim reading. 4 points from the last 30! Can GON stop the rot? He looks well short of quality at both ends of the pitch now.

Andre attempted 96 passes on his debut and
95% of them were successful
Wolves midfielder Andre completed all 40 of his passes today against Newcastle, the most on record by a player on their first ever Premier League start without misplacing one (since 2003-04).

We have joked in the past about claiming the best this or that but our midfield three is among the best in the prem for me. Certainly outside the top 3-4 clubs.
Andre
Joao Gomes
Lemina
Cunha
Ait-Nouri
Five top class players right there, we won't struggle for long.

The five i listed aren't meant to be backing my midfield claim if that wasn't clear
To be clear, I don't think relegation is a real possibility.
15th to 17th is my prediction.
Everton and Saints both look doomed.
Saints look awful. A team of nobodies.
Everton can still turn it around I think and wouldn't be a surprise if Moyes went there.
Points deductions will obviously play a part as well somewhere along the line so Leicester could be in a hole.
Every possibility that at the end of October we will have less points than you can count on one hand. So pointless to say that relegation isn’t possible. By that time there will be a lot of pressure on the manager and the players and once you step into the quicksand it’s difficult to get out.
We looked at least as good a team as Newcastle last night and over the season we will need to prove that. Just to match last season we will probably need to get over 40 points from the last 30 games. And that will require the form of a top half team
Don't think anyone has suggested that relegation isn't possible? What was alluded to is that it's not a real threat at the current time.
The biggest problem is confidence is at rock bottom. When Geordie Arabia got their equaliser, I don't think there was a person watching that didn't believe they would go on and win it.
We've looked good in patches this season. A decent spell v Arsenal. A few good moments in the first half v Chelsea. A good point at Forest. But the results are just a continuation of our form from the period after we ran out of steam last season.
Pointless looking as good as the opposition if ultimately you get beat.
Spot on mate. We should be beating teams like Newcastle at home and yes, we've looked good in patches, but for me GON is getting it wrong with his tactics.
We have the talent to be a secure mid table side with the chance of even getting a European spot. It's early days, I know, but something has to change and quick, or morale will drop just like it did at the end of last season.
If we're in the relegation zone come Xmas, then I can see players wanting to move on.
GON also has the problem of appeasing all of his squad and the likes of Doyle, Sarabia and others may start to cause a stir within the ranks, if they're not getting game time.
I don't feel like team unity is an issue right now personally.
We cocked up the transfer window again, sold big names and left it late to replace.
Also left it too late to get rid of Sarabia and Sa, if that was the intension on buying Sam Johnstone.
Still feel we are good enough to end far enough up the table, but the further behind we get the squeakier the bum gets.
Still don't get the Johnstone move with Sa still here. Didn't see anything yesterday to suggest we have upgraded, in fact his ball playing ability on the deck was awful, but hopefully he is just rusty.

I think Johnstone was a like for like replacement for a goalkeeper that didn’t want to stay. Sa had his heart set on a big wage move to Saudi.
Not sure why it fell through? Maybe they saw some highlight reels of Sa’s performance against Chelsea! 😂
Cornwall Wolf from the Mix passed.
Had seen he wasn't well, sad to see that, he was one that seemed to have genuine contacts in the game and would genuinely pass on info without selling attention.
Leicester have been cleared of ffp/psr by the way, no points deduction for them. Although they broke the rules the appeal panel said that because they'd been relegated they were no longer under the jurisdiction of the Premier League when their accounting period ended. Just more BS down to a ridiculous set of rules which are clearly a complete mess.
I don’t think the comparison should be between Sa and Johnstone. I don’t think Bentley is anywhere near good enough for the Premier league but now we have two keepers that are. If we hadn’t signed Johnstone and then Sa got injured I think we’d have been up the creek without a paddle

We should have accepted the money offered for Hwang. It wasn't that we left it too late to get rid of Sa, his deal fell through at the last moment and I'm not sure any offer came in for Sarabia. We did seal the deal for Doyle early and got Lima and Rodriguez.
My concern is how does GON keep everybody content now he has a senior squad of 24 + some talented youngsters. Maybe a rotation system, who knows.
Maybe a resetting in the next window with GON knowing more about what he really wants.
Agree about Hwang, still don't see him in the team very much.
bottom line our defence is not good enough against the top teams, it wasn’t last year and it’s weaker now without Kilman
