Absolutely the right decision to leave it this long instead of doing it a month or two ago or even after the FA cup. Really worth the dithering, means the next guy can start from lower down the league and have expectations for the season a bit lower.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We should just about avoid relegation now!
Xavi would be a pretty poor appointment.
It's another sad day, even if it's ultimately the right decision again. No idea what comes next and it's hard to feel optimistic about even a short new-manager bounce.
Scousers Mondays ruined. Get in.
He only has himself to blame.

And Dalot. He’d have probably kept his job another week at least if Dalot finished that open net.

18 month contract until after the World Cup. Caveats that it's extended if he does well and achieves targets.
He did well clearing up Koeman's mess at Barca initially didn't he? I think it'll be him. If he only sorts out the midfield that'd be something!
No rush now. Let Ruud have it for a while, and make sure the next appointment is the right guy to support the long term strategy.

As much as it's the correct decision I also hope all those players take a long, hard look at themselves in the mirror.

unfortunately ronaldo has left the club
If they bring in Southgate, I quit watching football.

You should go for Klopp. Imagine the Scouse meltdown lol
LOL
It was overdue though wasnt it. Even the hardened Ten Hag fans on SM sites (like this) if they were been honest would admit... I hope
Chelsea at OT could gave been messy for Ten Hag. (Even Leicester could have been if they came to play us) It still could be for whoever the next guy is too, but its a new start now. The job now begins for INEOS
Cmon you Reds

I wish EtH all the best. I’m confident he’ll succeed with more stability and less scrutiny than he faced at Utd. I appreciate his efforts and the memories from our cup runs, but ultimately, results are what matter. Given our precarious league position, it was inevitable we had to part ways. Critics might say we should’ve done it sooner, but hindsight is always easier than reality.

There are a bunch of issues to sort. The main ones for me are the players’ heads, offensive patterns, the press, and build up play, probably more or less in that order.
*Broadly* we’ve seen quite an improvement in the defensive transition this season. It’s what we do at each end which needs the most work. And the facking players’ understanding of modern elite level football, which appears to be severely lacking.
The fella did not have the temperament or charisma to be a Manchester United manager.
I wish him well with the millions he would be getting.

I am surprised they sacked him after the mitigating circumstances yesterday, but he can have no complaints.
Sad that its turned out this way for him.

Agree with this
To think we could he appointing Tuchel tomorrow if we had the cojones to sack Eric in May
A bit gutted. He brought us our greatest success since Fergie left. He won the FA Cup, league cup and narrowly missed out on the English super cup on penalties.
He was the most successful manager outside of Pep remaining in the PL.
I don't think we can ever find a manager that will be as good as Ten Hag, in this post Fergie era.
