Ruud could be just as bad if not worse. I’m sure he’ll be fine for a few weeks but if he’s as bad as Ten Hag this season is gonna be depressing. More so because at least it was fun to sack ETH. It won’t be fun to sack one of my favourite strikers.

Club sources at Manchester United have told me:

That sacking Ten Hag now was a difficult and finely balanced decision, but a collective and unanimous one.

That they had wanted to give Ten Hag the opportunity to work within a new sporting structure, but the results and performances had not been good enough last season and into this campaign.

United wanted to have continuity at a time of significant change, but felt they were not seeing the momentum and progress to believe they were on the right path.

For the second season in a row, United have had a poor start in the league and have also failed to win their first three Europa League games from winning positions.

The board felt that there were no excuses for the team's current performance. They felt that had put everything they could in place and were not seeing any improvement.

I think we can genuinely say Ten Hag was the worst manager post Fergie given how much money and support he’s been given these last 2.5 years.

I’m not sure he would if his time at Barca is anything to go by.

He primarily used a box midfield, which looked like a 4-2-1-3 on paper, but had a midfielder (Pedri or Gavi) filling one of the wide slots and dropping in to sit alongside the attacking midfielder.

For us, it might look something like:

Casemiro—Ugarte

Mount/Amad—Bruno

Hojlund—Rashford

Very true. If we’d given Moyes or any of our other managers £600 million and no Ed Woodward they’d all have done better imo

For sure, Xavi would want a new attacking LB, who could actually overlap, right away.

I hope if Ineos learn one lesson it’s not to give a manager a contract extension at the end of season 2. It’s killed 3 managers now

I’m so facking happy to not see the bloke bring up the two trophies he won as a cop out for the league performances under him

I know there isnt any obligation. However it would be nice gesture as a man of great wealth to do so. In part anyway. Maybe he will maybe he wont.

The club are absolutely stupid for not sacking him after the Villa match, we could’ve gone for Tuchel again and negotiated something more attractive for him
