15m to sack Ten Hag,. 10m to get this new fella.

Jim is going to have to sack a few more Man United kitchen workers and cancel a few more busses to pay for all that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, it does not look great.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No it doesn't but you can't change the past now. Should have gone in the summer at the very latest but he didn't so we just have to move on now
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I understand that, RB&W was merely stating the obvious, and I agreed.

The focus is now on Sir Jim, who has "his" man at a cost, and on the back of sweeping cost-cutting measures. Considering our wasteful spending on transfers and severance packages, these cuts seem contradictory, further highlighting the poor decisions behind laying off long serving staff. For these employees, the impact is life changing, unlike for those on multi million pound contracts. It’s all about optics.

Genuinely shocked how quickly this has happened.

We should do the decent thing and release him on a free.

I'm not sure who mentioned it here, but this has likely been in the works for some time, discussions like these don’t happen overnight. We probably reached out to Amorim's agent to enquire about finer details, with the understanding that "something" might happen depending on results. It also highlights the stupidity of extending EtH's contract over the summer. The board likely mishandled this, possibly due to a split, choosing the safe option instead.

Wasn’t it voluntary redundancy?

Nothing wrong with looking to make the running of club more efficient and isn’t mutually exclusive from sorting out the mess that is our ‘front of office’, imo.

I am all for efficiency drives. To put it in context, this is to save £10 million per year, we’ve wasted in excess of a billion in the transfer market, while the Glazers have taken at least as much in dividends. The only truly effective and financially sustainable approach would be to stop making poor sporting decisions and find a way to rid the club of those parasites!

Of course.

As I said though, they’re not mutually exclusive. There’s no reason not to make the club more efficient. I think it’s a bit misleading.

If I had a radiator valve that was leaking water in the lounge onto the carpet and it was something I could easily solve, but also had leak down the back of the boiler that was going to take more work to fix, I wouldn’t just leave the radiator just because the other problem was bigger.

Yeh but would you smash the boiler pipe so the whole place floods whilst fixing the radiator?

It's started. Incredible how the football media are sharpening the knives already, before Amorim has even joined.

Here's one prat who constantly revels in putting United down.

Someone should tell Kaveh the reason that no one was hearing the crap he's spouting about United when Livpl hadn't won the league in 30 years, is because the English football press and pundits were/are riddled with scousers and ex-livpl players

True, but if fixing the radiator valve was only going to lead to another leak because of shoddy piping, I’d be questioning why I’m fixing the radiator at all and not the whole system, FFS! 😁

Think some people need to read what MUST posted about the recent Fans Forum (who have 2 representatives on the forum. .....Basically Jims cost cutting drive is pizzing the fans off....

Omar gave a fairly gloomy overview of the Club’s financial position. In simple terms, due to sustained under-performance on the field MUFC is losing money and needs to cut costs. With 250 club staff having lost their jobs already, it is clear that morale seems to have been affected and we’re concerned that cost-cutting is impacting on supporter services. The clearest example of this is the withdrawal of ticket collections for European aways which required the club to send significant numbers of staff to each game. Ticket collections seem unlikely to return and we all know this creates the risk of people gaming the system by applying for Euro Aways they have no intention of attending. We think this is a big mistake and made our views clear in the meeting. We hope they will reconsider in future as the consequences become even clearer.A further example of cost-cutting we have exposed is the paltry savings the club has made from the cancellation of the post-match bus services that used to run from outside the Ford garage back to Piccadilly. The cancellation of these buses has inconvenienced fans and local residents alike and the minutes reveal all for a saving to the club of just £3748 per matchday! The one piece of good news is that TfGM is restoring the buses themselves, and they will return from January for a fare of just £2.More broadly though, we called on Omar Berrada to review the cuts in the budget for Supporter Services which we believe have gone too far and are causing damage with waiting time for response to queries increased and the removal of those Euro Away collections being two examples.Just a note on the question regarding away ticket ballots we have asked the club to amend the wording in the original minutes which stated that “The away game subgroup has confirmed they are not willing to review methodology at this time.” and change this to:“We are open to reviewing the methodology for away tickets and credits, but after careful consideration we haven’t yet found a solution that enhances fairness without creating other issues. Therefore we believe no changes should be made until further consultations have been conducted with ticketholders and until we have explored all possible improvements…

RB&W, are you aiming to break the world record for a paragraph?! 🤣

posted on 29/10/24

RB&W,

Berrada attributing losses to on field performances sharply contrasts with Ed Woodward's past stance that the club doesn't need to succeed on the pitch to make money! Laughable because it simply does! This reflects the result of financial recklessness and exploitation by the owners. Once again, fans and employees are bearing the brunt of poor sporting decisions made by negligent and parasitic owners.

posted on 29/10/24

Ed Woodenhead was an idiot if he didnt think that United needed to be succesful at football to make money. If fact its an insult to United supporters who pay hard earned cash for match tickets, TV subs, hospitality and merchansdise. Of course supporter patronage to the brand will be greater if results are favourable and the football style is entertaining

I can't go through another manager having to buy all his own players again.

I had hoped that Utd would adopt a mature approach under the new sporting structure, where the DOF creates a blueprint for success and develops a squad independently of the coach, who would then be instructed on what he has to work with. Let's wait and see how this works out in reality!
