----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was going to go be racist the other night but I caught the kick off of the Ipswich game and saw the players bending the knee and it made me decide against it.
So these campaigns and gestures really do work.
I mean they work to a degree because it's being discussed at length by many people because of what's happened.
They're not trying to irradicate homophobia FFS, it's about making the issue more public and getting people to see the issues at hand.
Also, didn't the FA light up the Wembley arch in the Ukrain colours? I'm guessing much like the rest of the western world, sadly the FA don't give a f-ck about what's happening in Gaza.

What a stupid example. You don't have a choice with shirt sponsors but the rainbow thing is optional and he did what he thought was right. Complete none story.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He could also have joined a club more aligned to his values if we're going down that road.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What does that even mean?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It can hardly be clearer.
If Ipswich's anti homophobia stance isn't to his liking then perhaps he should have joined a club that don't take that stance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How are his action homophobic?
I didnt go to the local Gay Pride this year. I have no interest in it whatsoever. I dont where a badge saying i stand with the LGBT etc community. Does that make me homophobic.
You can not support something without being against it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've not stated his actions are homophobic. I'm just stating he's not joined the anti-homophobia campaign that he knew full well his club would be part of.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He is free not to support it, and if tolerance is genuinely a two-way thing then his choice should be respected, so long as his choice doesn't manifest in any harmful/hateful way.
A decision not to wear an armband is hardly that.
And perhaps he joined the club knowing or having been assured that respect and tolerance would be reciprocal.

As someone else said I think the main aim is to highlight issues and make people aware but personally all I think it does it p!ss people off even more because it gets tiresome.

I think the better question is, why on Earth would a colourful armband pīss people off? Seriously, apart from the one obvious reason, what would make someone get annoyed about that?
Confusing time for conservatives as they don’t know whether to side with Muslims or progressive campaigns.

It's not the armband or bending the knee that annoys people.
It's the massive amounts of rubbish that comes with it, e.g. this article or if someone doesn't bend the knee a huge deal is made out of it.
I am almost certain some black football players have refused to bend the knee in the PL.
How long was bend the knee splashed over the media for? Everywhere you turned, it was something to do with BLM or bending the knee.
The same goes for pride stuff.
People generally just get tired of seeing the same stuff every where you look.
Thought that was pretty standard human nature?
I don't think the BLM or knee bending stuff has really helped racism at all, in my opinion.
Why is it black lives too? My wife is asian, I don't see anything to do with Asian lives matter. Asians are targeted by racist cants all the time, my wife in particular.
The focus on specific things and ignoring other things is also another thing that p!sses people off.

If the 'rainbow' included a color for paedophiles (as they have argued they should be represented) would you happily wear it?
Rightly or wrongly, some people feel their religion puts lbtgq.... in the same category.
