WE'RE NOT GOING TO SIGN ANYONE UNLESS WE DO
jeez man I thought everyone on here would be old enough to not do a Don every transfer window
spend all day tying themselves in knots about how angry they'll be if we don't sign anyone else when there's just no reason to think that'll happen
Used to like that thread but it’s been it’s so tiresome now.
It was so fun while Paratici was here
Right after that copper kicked the guy in the head and stamped on his head, he tasered his mum directly in the face from inches:

I hope he is going to see A LOT of jail time.

I feel so so angry about what happened to that family and what that copper did.
Maybe transfer you anger to Levy. We seem to be short on numbers in that department..

Technically the Police officer's kicking motion was a good strike if you replace the head with a football.
Sorry, bad taste but in footballing terms it was dirty and a defo red card, lifetime ban.
Assuming he's not going to get done for attempted murder, there should be another offense where you did something with the intent to cause substantial harm and which had a realistic chance of killing the person.
It's not right if that's a simple assault charge.
Well whats the sentencing for a simple ass salt charge?
i was a bit down on Solanke but seems to be happening
will still be happy with it if we sign an upgrade on the right wing too. bonus if we can sell Richarlison, who i dont hate but is unavailable too often and need to get more out the door
I was very opposed to signing Solanke at first because Opta's xG data had his finishing as being comparable to Jesus/Tammy/DCL and I felt like despite his all round game being good that's too big of a drawback and he would probably lose the confidence of the manager quickly and suddenly we've paid 65m for a backup
However, my friend who works at Statsbomb (who have a better xG model that has proved to be a more reliable predictor, to the point that it's no longer accessible for free because football clubs are willing to pay for it) said that his finishing isn't close to being that bad and is more comparable to someone like Richy in terms of just some slight under performance.
with that in mind I think it's a good signing who will improve us, I think it'll be a similar situation to Havertz at Arsenal, or Morata for the Spain team that just won the euros.
You can be a very good side and pick up a lot of points if he starts up front for you because hes so well rounded and fits the system, but eventually you get to a point where you feel like you need more firepower from that position once you're banging on the door.
Crucially though, bringing in a player like that helps you become good enough to attract that next tier of centre forward further down the line.
I don't really have an issue with people who just feel like we should just be taking a punt on someone less safe but with more upside, I think I would still prefer to sign Jonathan David because he's more my type of signing.
But it's the snobbishness I object to, complaining about signing a "Bournemouth striker" even though they've spent all summer crying out for a "Brentford Striker" and a "Palace winger". Suggesting that it's somehow unambitious to potentially break your transfer record to sign a guy who scored 19 PL goals last season
they'll really just come up with any excuse to moan

What I have always maintained is any striker who has had multiple high level goal scoring seasons at any decent level (I include the championship in this), then they are a very good striker. If they have more to their all round game then its a bonus.
My problem with it is
a. How long it has taken, with him not at the euros etc. clearly a key area to try get sorted asap. understand lots of factors with this not being so straight forward but we werent so much as linked until recently concretely.
b. The cost is high for a club like spurs, meaning we may not address other areas because of it, which we have also left quite late. Really need that right sided attacker also and imo a stronger LCB to Davies who doesnt have the pace to play the way we play.
The player himself i am happy with the profile.
In terms of fans you are always going to have the moaning, i can understand it cause of from where it all stems from, years of not winning and poor transfers etc etc, not really worth interacting though cause what they say isnt going to change anything.
We are in a good place with youngsters as long as they are handled well which i trust Ange with. Need a few more middle bracket signings to really work out, cause you don't need to spend ridiculous amounts when we are in our current position where the top in the world in their positions are not going to join a club outside of the CL or guaranteed trophy challenger
I guess the quality of his signing will all vary on if we get rid of Richarlison and how much for
Out of realistic transfer targets, which striker would you have rather signed than Solanke?
I know Chris preferred David, but what about everyone else?
