I don't disagree, my point is largely about people who try this 'Careful what you wish for' argument about Wenger, when he was no longer getting them top four and it wasn't like 2005-2010ish when they had minimal transfer spends but played nice football with younger players.
-------------------------------------------------------
But part of the connotations of 'be careful what you wish for' isn't just about what Wenger was bringing to the table, it's do you trust the people who'll replace him to get it right?
While he was getting top 4 consistently that would've been my position if I was an Arsenal fan. It wasn't about him, it was about lack of trust in selecting his successor. But in a weird way I'd have been grateful Wenger gave me those years where the top 4 grip was lost so I knew it had to be done kinda thing.
I actually remember the exact game I thought maybe he should walk away for Arsenal's sake. Was the 0-3 defeat to City (in the league) after losing to them in the cup final
I think it’ll be fine and I still think we’ll win the league tbh lol just think we’ve been having some teething problems in a few games but if you’re only going to lose to City in the league then you’re on the right track.
And if anyone is going to maximise this team it’ll be Tuchel. Fking love that man
I watched game of the day and I saw Lulaku working his bollix off. Coming deep great linkup play.
I am more worried that he is not that player to bury the one half chance in a big game.
He has never proven that.

Drogba probably would have escored agst Juve .
So whilst a draw is the best result between Liverpool and City if there is a winning team tomorrow, who would you rather it be?
For me I would rather City win even though they crushed us last weekend.
I still think they have a greater capacity to drop points.
The commentator in the post match with Tuchel down playing the time between foul and goal ( 20 secs ).
as if that is nothing. You could virtually run the length of the pitch three and a half times in that ffs.

The fact Wenger's replacements were poorly chosen does not mean it was right to keep him. Roman would have sacked him around 2006 tbh, and that sort of ruthlessness would have been preferable to keeping him on as long as they did when it had been clear for a long time he was no longer a top class manager. They should have got a replacement from a position of strength, when they were still a consistent top four proposition but a way of title contention.
I think Arsenal fans actually had every right to look at the situation 5-7 years ago with their super-expensive season tickets, and past-it manager, and without the soon-to-form big six and demand better.
They are screwed due to the malaise of inaction, not because they sacked him.

I know we haven't played well for a while, but the truth is we lost to Juve and City 0-1 in two games. The fact some people were making moon eyes at United for scraping a win v Villareal when they have been outplayed at home three games in a row is bizarre.
No it's not. It's Utd. It's expected. Same with Liverpool.
Some of our attacking play today was the best so far this season.
Anyway, my highlight of the season remains Tyrone Mings having a mare vs us. That race-baiting activist being shown up as a limited defender with barely a brain cell to rub together gave me even more joy than Italy winning the shootout at Wembley. And I was thrilled when that happened.

Agree with Biggish. I think it was the speed of attack and precision that elevated above the rest of the seasons attack.
Average looking good for a 7th win on the bounce in the Haven H2H

I preferred our second goal vs Arsenal. That Havertz pass to Alonso followed by the setting up of James and the finish was glorious.

I agree with that in terms of overall performance. But today our attacking play was so fast and precise.
Was it that precise? I think in the final third we made some very poor decisions.
Lot of energy and exuberance and flawless in the midfield for the opening 45 mins. But I don't see much difference with CHO-Lukaku-Werner to Mount-Lukaku-Havertz in terms of decision making. Still some bizarre final balls in terms of execution and choices.
I think there was a significant difference
