Chelsea have held further talks with Kieran McKenna's representatives.

Lol
We’ve just come 6th, qualified for Europe. Ended the season super strong, all the players have spoke about their like for Poch, ex players and coaches (JT/Emma Hayes) rate Poch highly too and speak admirably of him and his team
Yet we’re considering getting rid of him and some random flavour of the month manager
These owners are actually fackin morons
Like fair enough it’s rumours but they should be coming straight out and saying all these media articles are nonsense and drivel, Poch is our guy and we’re excited for next season
That's the problem though, there's no smoke without fire. There's been no public backing of the manager apart from Boehly making some comments about how impressive the turnaround in form has been of late. But that's not a manager specific comment.
It looks like the club are actively talking with these managers like McKenna in case they part ways with Poch. Which let's be honest is a dlck move considering how we've somehow managed to finish as high a sixth during what was a disaster season riddled with injuries.
It's a really bad look from these owners and it shows that they don't have much loyalty to any manager. So much for a process and having patience etc. We're just going to continue to get through managers for fun with three owners, just like in the Roman era but without any of the trophies.
There's plenty of smoke without fire every summer.
Seems like a big sticking point is giving Poch input over transfers. Would explain why the owners appear to be unsure over him despite our v. strong end of season form.
Not sure the owners will budge of this - which also might explain why we'd be looking to replace Poch with a younger manager
According to Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea are in talks to reappoint former manager Thomas Tuchel.
Not giving the manager any input over players seems weird. I know managers aren't really in control of transfers these days but there should be some kind of symbiosis on the matter between head coach, sporting directors and owners.
These owners just want a placid yes man head coach that can win things for them but also go along with whatever they decide to give him to work with. I really don't think that manager exists tbh.
They should probably break the bank to bring in Klopp then because I can't think of anyone more suited to the unrealistic parameters they're setting.
Standard - Manchester United's new ownership hold Mauricio Pochettino in high esteem, and would consider him as an option should he leave Chelsea.

Not surprising. Would be a very good fit at Utd and get them back on track. Shame our owners are too dumb to hold onto top managers like Tuchel and Poch.
TalkSport understands Pochettino will consider quitting if he is not given a greater say in transfer policy. Pochettino wants to keep Gallagher but Egbhali is open to offers. (@alex_crook) #CFC
U25 transfer policy
U35 manager policy
Literally everyone else is talking about what an improvement we've made this season and that we're going to be a threat next season.
The owners reaction to that is let's rock the boat after the first bit of stability in two years and bring in a lesser experienced manager even though the last time we did that with Potter he was like a rabbit in the headlights under the exponentially increased spotlight and pressure at this club.
Poch has clearly shown that he's not affected by the pressure and rose to the occasion against the odds making us finish in a respectable position.

Goes against the narrative that we want a young coach.
You really think TT is not going to fall out with these owners again, he'll want a say in signings and isn't a 'yes man'
Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be ready to tell the #Chelsea board that he is confident of continuing his trend of delivering an improved second season, as he has in all his previous managerial roles.

I am not saying we are getting Tuchel but I recall his main problem was he didn't want to say in signings. He didn't like being a de facto DoF that summer we got taken over and tbf his signings were all terrible.
Tuchel isn't coming back. Wish people would stop pretending that it's even remotely possible lol.
Wish people would stop acting like we’d be losing prime Jose if Poch is given the boot.
