"The only thing delusional is thinking you're on our level of European pedigree."

According to UEFA, the G.oons have the SAME at best.

Again, your delusion causes you to confuse pedigree with incumbency of a weaker form of a tournament.
----------------------------------------

I said I'll admit you're at our level when you admit Huddersfield are at your league level. Do you accept that? It's pretty simple.

I have a simple question for you. Do you consider Tottenham a big club in the Premier League?

-----

of course we are.. but we are not elite...... we havent ever even been in the top 3 so how can we be...?

being a big club is one thing.......being elite is something different.....

leeds are a big club.. but are clearly not european elite.
-----------------------------------

The problem in this circular argument is such subjective definitions. What is the difference between being an elite club and a big club? Your definition of "elite" is certainly more exclusive but no more valid than someone who considers them the same.

If Huddersfield had a league record over the past 20-30 yrs, you could almost have a valid point.

As they don't, your reasoning is flawed.

Unless of course, you wish to define a time window for domestic/UEFA tournaments over which such a comparison would have meaning ...

"The problem in this circular argument is such subjective definitions."

Easy to kill this one stone dead.
Elite and big have well defined meanings.

Do you wish for a football club to define either in terms of :

1. Support
2. Financial income
3. Trophies won
4. Other

Any particular time windows in mind etc ... ??

Daniel Levy is a top class chairman. He finds bargains constantly and is assertive in keeping your best assets, although Modric could maybe move this summer eventually.

If Tottenham had more than one CL campaign in years, you could almost have a valid point.

You can't just make it up as you go along, defining all the boundaries of the argument. The analogy isn't perfect but is certainly workable and acceptable in this argument.

should have qualified "years" above with "50".

You could.
But given I am offering YOU to DEFINE the boundaries NOW, you seem remarkably reluctant to do so ...

Take your head out of your harris, and admit Arsenal are European no hopers.

Take your head out of your harris, and admit Arsenal are European no hopers.

And where does that leave Tottenham in this scenario.

posted on 15/5/12

you have to be in it to be No hopers

"And where does that leave Tottenham in this scenario"

The same.

But at least we're sane enough to talk about UEFA stuff without putting "elite" , "big club" in the same sentence.

Two fourth places in the history of the Premier League.hardly earth shatering.

"hardly earth shatering"

Hardly relevant either (talking about UEFA stuff) .

Show me one Tottenham fan who has not said, that we have been crap for far to long, but slowly but surely we are challenging in the top 5 every season and will be going forward

So that was what the O-P was about.

"So that was what the O-P was about."

The OP was of the CURRENT PL top 4, Spurs have reined in their net transfer spend to only 16m over the past 2 yrs.

"but slowly but surely we are challenging in the top 5 every season and will be going forward"

This is the reality of the "power shift" .
The G.oons think it will come as an explosion.
When in fact tis a slow choking creep for the past 4 seasons.

The FACTs confirm it. The STATs confirm it.
Small club mentality : tis the destiny of the G.oons.

posted on 15/5/12

Shame ,Tottenham Hotspur always fail to confirm it.

"Tottenham Hotspur always fail to confirm it"

Don't need us to do so when the FACT/STAT barrage does it already.

Are you looking forward to the St Totts 3rd place cup going to the last 45 mins of the PL season again next May ??

Face it mate, your time is well and truely up, arguing with Spurs fans, when you used to do battle with Man United fans. They see you as a small club these days, their rivals are once again their neighbours Man City.

Arsenals rivals are once again Spurs, Newcastle and I supose we can stick in Chelsea, even though they finished way back in 6th.

Liverpool.
