A little bit of perspective!

It's a FACT, FACT that spurs have spent more than us in terms of transfer fees since the PL began.

Let's not even talk about the NET SPEND, which is MASSIVELY in arsenal's favour.

posted on 14/5/12

Bales, I posted the link. I even posted the figures that you have spent more on transfers since the beginning of the CL.
Wages are debateable, as I explained we have invested a lot in youth as it is the only way to compete with high spending clubs like City and Chelsea.

All you have done is showed revenue made. That means nothing in terms of money available, as you yourself pointed out with the Man City position.

posted on 14/5/12

BLB, I may be wrong but revenue is what a team earns. Not what money it has available. Your billionaire puts a lot of money into your team, our billionaires don't.

-----------------------

Revenue is money earned by a club, what they spend is their business. The end of year accounts (roughly) give you the difference.

Please read my posts or this'll take forever - Joe Lewis does not pump any money into our club, we are self-sufficient

You knw, i was 50/50 for sat but these delusional sp ds are swaying me towards a Chelsea win now.

Verm, DJ - if you are only willing to look at transfer fees this debate is shot to pieces.

Go wum somewhere

mthierry the he is seems to get what i'm on about.

So you claim we spend more on wages (which is NOT definite and NOT proven) whilst we claim you spend more on transfer fees (which IS definitely and IS proven).

Hmmmm.

posted on 14/5/12

Spurs spent £87million in 08, made only £67m. Did you really make the rest self sufficiently? That doesn't include wages and the rest of expenditure.

The season before you had a debit of £33million in transfers.

The season before a defecit of £23m, the year before £18m.

Are you telling me Spurs, without the CL money you lot seem obsessed with as being a major factor. It certainly isn't money made from winning a Carling Cup!!

Come on, you are just guessing on what Arsenal and Spurs have available to spend.

And that is not a self sufficient Spurs. the amount you spent to catch up with us is massive, and you still haven't caught up. And you still have a stadium to finance. And you may yet miss out on the CL "fortunes".

mthierry - We're a 1-man team but that's 1 more than the toy tots.

Sandy is probably not sharp enough to realize that using his perverse logic, Spurs are no different from Yeovil.

Spurs are the currently 4th best team in the country, Yeovil are somewhere aroundabout the 64th. Are you some kind of idiot.

You say we are not giving you figures, all you have done is show Arsenal is a highly efficient business model that has a great revenue.

Verminator - i've asked repeatedly now for you to prove that your club does not spend more on wages. It's not hard really if you look into it.

I can say that Spurs made a small profit, and usually post modest profits. Therefore our spending does roughly equal the revenue figures.

As I said in the very beginning - i would be surprised if you don't spend a fair amount more than us each season, but i'm willing to admit i'm wrong if you can

posted on 14/5/12

I'm not guessing at all DJ - you haven't been reading my posts again. And yet again all you understand is transfer fees. I give up.

posted on 14/5/12

So you cannot prove Arsenal spend a significant amount more than Spurs, or even a small amount.

As I said, where is the debate? This is just guesstimates and rumour.

posted on 14/5/12

^^^if you can prove it*

posted on 14/5/12

What have you proved Bales? Nothing other than revenue. As shown by you, Man City is lower than Spurs, does that suggest City spend less than Spurs? No.

posted on 14/5/12

mthierry

Well they have more similarities with Yeovil history wise than they do with us lol.

posted on 14/5/12

DJ.

Man City posted massive losses - this is against their revenue.

We did not.

Arsenal did not.

The difference in our profit and yours is the price of a point

Arsenal play CL EVERY YEAR while Spurs have played it once. Are you brain-dead or going senile?

--------

Sorry, that's a rather simplified explanation. Any profit Arsenal made, after taking into account the £70m extra revenue is the price of a point

posted on 14/5/12

That point is worth a lot, especially if Chelsea win or Spurs lose the play off. So i don't get your point regarding the point.

Show me the wages of the 25 men squads of each team, and the transfer fees each team has spent in the PL era, or even the last 5 years. If Arsenal have a greater value then you have a point. But I doubt it...

Actually, factoring the crazy wages we play youngsters, crocks, geriatrics and other liabilities in the name of our hare-brained egalitarian wage system, we certainly outspend Spurs. I'm willing to concede that but we justify that extra spending by always outperforming you.

posted on 14/5/12

Right, I am going to watch TV before bed.

The conclusions I have gained from this...

1) Spurs have spent a significant amount more than Arsenal on transfer fees.
2) Arsenal have recieved significantly more in transfer fees than Spurs.
3) Arsenal make more money than Spurs in revenue.
4) Arsenal have an expensive stadium, Spurs are still dreaming about theirs.
5) Arsenal finished 3rd in the PL and have qualified for the CL.
6) Spurs finished 4th in the PL, and have to wait to see if they qualified for the CL, and will have to play a qualifier if Chelsea do not win next week.

Arsenal despite playing CL every season are level with Spurs, apart from not having won a any trophies for coming up to 8 years now, whereas Sprus have won a trophy. Are you the village idiot or something.
