Just got back from unbelievably enough another dodgy round of golf, let down by a couple of late double bogeys and see that England are on the verge of breaking down this defiant West Indian and getting into a series lead
Lets get that last wicket and then knock off these runs like the good side we are
great effort by west indies. atleast this game is guaranteed to go till the 2 nd session tomorrow. unlike india where they struggled to stay for 4 days. sad times for indian cricket
Swann has bowled him and the target set is 190. Thank you are we go marching on on on Ennggeerrlluunndddddd
This could be embarrassing
Poor from Strauss though...
"take a hit" ffs...
Its like the Pakistan tour all over again
Can you imagine what Maksi would be saying if Australia were in the position? Can't even get the WI tail out, can't bat against a poor pace attack on a flat pitch.
I imagine a fair few lifelong Windies fans will come out of the woodwork tomorrow at Lords!
Stick to the thread duncan. This is England, who have full control, against the West Indies. I hardly care what Australia are doing at the best of times, and certainly not this week.181 to win and a whole day to do it
"Stick to the thread duncan."
I think my ironyometer just exploded.
lol The Windies are a team I have loads of respect for ( grew up idolising them) and it is going to be impossible to draw me into any discussions about Australia or India or anyone other than these 2 teams playing now.
England have lost 1 batsmen and a bowler, and now our boys will knuckle down, see off that new ball, and then win the first game.
I keep hearing how well the Windies have been playing, and they have too, but we have taken 20 wickets, scored nearly 400 in the first innings and will win this match.Personally I think we are far better than them and patronising their efforts is demeaning
MyChestHurts WI are a side ranked 7th is it? Playing away from home against the number 1 team in the world. They've taken us to 5 days and have a decent chance of victory.
Recognising that they've played well is not demeaning by any stretch of the imagination. It's common sense.
Considering you got to bowl at the Windies when the pitch was actually helpful I think being 10-2 chasing 191 is already past the point of winning "easily".
If I was to be totally honest dunc, I am a little worried They won the third day easily, and have won today too. They have been chipping away at us since day two, and as an earlier poster wrote, we saw this before and recently, and we made a horlicks of the run chase.
I will be sat in my truck tomorrow so when I get home, after 8 hours work and 4 hours golf, the headlines are going to be the first thing I see
Let's hope it's good news for the Worlds best Test Match cricket team - us
I don't think that anyone seriously thinks WI will win, but it's certainly going to be closer than what I thought it would be after the first 2 days. I expected WI to just capitulate.
If there's an early wicket tomorrow our batsmen are going to be very nervous, fearing another display similar to Abu Dhabi. It shouldn't happen but fear of failure is like a fast spreading virus.
Cook and Trott must show the WI bowling is nothing to fear.
