Wow Matt Prior is in a hurry here.

posted on 19/5/12

My prediction is that Prior will get to his century before Bell does.

He is only 10 runs behind now Jack and used 37 balls less

Prior might get his hundred before Bell reaches fifty

This could be good for England with the threat of bad weather the next two days. a lead of 150 will be enough.

That 4 from Bell with both feet off the ground was real class from Bell. I just hope he doesn't get carried away and throw it away as he often does.

Maksi, I'm only harsh on Strauss because of how much I rated him.

When I saw Strauss in 2004, I genuinely thought he'd be the best English batsman of his generation and thought he'd break all sorts of records.

Same happened to Vaughan and Hussain before him, both looking the business before Captaincy and once they became Captain, the form went downhill and every century was treated a monumental achievement.

bell is class act, but he needs to learn how to play on spinning tracks.
i would put this west indies effort better than india's. i cant believe how bad india are on pitches which are pace friendly.
in terms of rankings, india should come at no.9 below westindies and nz outside subcontinent

I love watching Swann bat

posted on 19/5/12

weather looks questionable next days - 400+ will do it. Bat a little more if wickets still in hand but then declare and "unleash hell" for 20-30 overs, again if wickets in hand - this is England after all

DSB you like Swann because he plays IPL style. Bell's class clearly is wasted on you.

...and as usual, and after weeks / months of restraint, a comment from me and there is a wicket!

What's you problem hopefor?? What an idiotic comment to make

You came to that conclusion because i like all types of cricket??

How do you know that i don't admire Bell's batting?? All i said was that i love the way Swann comes out at 10 & dominates the bowlers.

Grow up

...and there is as another reminder of why I do not contribute here - the "good old 606 banter" - hmmmm

Dern -

Maybe we should start slinging pompous and baseless accusations at other posters and then call them children when they object ?

bet that would show the other posters how mature we are and how knowedgable we are about cricket

What I've never understanded about the Windies since Lara has retired is why doesn't Chanderpaul bat at 4?

He is one of the worst batsman with the tail, he hardly ever accelerates and in the first innings, he got a single of the first ball, exposing a number 10 to 5 balls (to a bowler with a fifer to his name). By the end of the over Windies are all out and chanderpaul get his beloved asterix next to his name and that average gets a boost.

Chanders may have an average of over 50 and 38 not outs in his career, but I really wonder how many of those games he has won for the West Indies.
