He has less competition at United so is likely to get more games. City's strikers are simply better than ours.

---

But wouldn't a striker that was top scorer in the league and considered himself that good that he must be at a trophy winning side think that the best choice would be to go where the best strikers are?

What is he supposed to be afraid of?

Donald Vito (U4098)

Maybe he likes to be the out and out striker and likes the idea of playing in front of Rooney. Maybe he wants to play under Ferguson. Maybe he simply want to play for Utd.

The point is that either way he has more chance of winning trophies.

Serial;

That just sounds bitter but it does not alter the fact.

I genuinely don't think you'll win a major title this season. FA Cup maybe, but that's not what appeases players.

Am I the only one who still values the FA Cup? It has always been my favourite competition.

Who would you fancy getting more games against - Tevez, Ballo, Dzeko and Aguero or Welbeck, Hernandez, Macheda and Rooney? If he goes to City he is up against 3 top top strikers and one that is ok. At United he is up against one top top striker and 3 that have promise.

Or maybe he likes the history and romance that United offer?

My gripe is that he claims to love Arsenal and the club. If he.REALLY loved Arsenal then he would not join United.

And? Cesc would have been top dog anywhere in the world apart from Barca, where he has immense competition. He chose the best trophy winning side. If RVP's main motivation is to win trophies then he should have gone to City, they have a very good chance of doing the treble with their squad.

Bitter? How? I'm just stating exactly what happened.

And what facts are you talking about? Has Van Persie actually come out and said he wants to join United, or are you going to throw the countless twitter and paper rumours as "facts"?

Cesc was what, 5 years younger when he moved? He had time on his side. At 29 and with a history of injuries that have limited his number of appearances, RVP may want to be playing regularly and in a team that has a chance of winning trophies.

Please be kidding. It breaks my heart to think you are just that stupid.

Not completely true. He left for Barcelona because he's a Catalan lad. They just happen to be pretty damn good at this moment in time.

So then it makes more sense to choose the side which is more likely to win them! i.e, City, rather than going to squad which is trying to play catch up, because he doesn't have time to play catch up.

Are United playing catch-up though? We missed out in injury time despite having terrible injuries throughout the season. We have signed Kagawa and if RVP also joins, maybe he thinks that United will have the strongest squad?

Yes, that's true. I think my point was that cesc is a good example of when if a player really wants to go and do something they'll go and do it regardless of the competition

I reckon Arsenal would have the stronger if RVP stayed. This is why I'm questioning his motives.

So now it's he's moving because he thinks United has the strongest squad?

So it's not because he thinks he'll get game time as you suggested about 10 minutes ago.

Arsenal fans on this thread!

Seen them play in this league have you? No.

Giroud record built in the most part on lower league football? Yes

Podolski dropped at Bayern and had an average strike rate in a weaker league? Yes.

Cazorla start for Spain? No.

Deal with it.

Does that fact that I believe that City have the better strikers equate to them having the strongest squad? No. If United had not picked up so many injuries last term I believe we would have won the title.

Deal with what? With you?

I'll pass thanks.

Coming from a fan of a team who signed the likes of Adam, Downing and Konchesky. You're in no position to criticise signings that Arsenal have made.
