Van Persie

Difficult. Fabregas was bad because we had Nasri leaving at the same team, and they wern't replaced.

RVP left the wrong way about it , but he was replaced.

So in terms of who was the bigger loss has to be Cesc.

as a player - Fabregas
as a person = Fabregas

plus Fabregas has another 10 years at the top.

Both in a way, but Cesc more because he's the best playmaker I have seen.

Rv lost all respect the say he signed for the s.c.um.

Our team was Fabregas for about 5 years. He was only 24 and wasn't perennially injured.

Van Persie was our team for one season but was our only truly special player at the time (I rate Wilshere but we will see what happens with him). He was 29 BUT we sold him to Man United so that is SO SO SO much worse.

RVP

Surely it was RVP considering he was the only world class player at the club at the time of his departure

Not a WUM attempt but it's true no?

Fabregas left, but you still had RVP and Nasri who had a lot to give

RVP left and you're left with a crocked Wilshere

Definitely rvp. They dude got us to top 4 last season and I don't think fab has ever had a season of simillar magnitude.

I know it's all what if but cazorla operating with Rvp would have been a joy

Smalling you numptey your wrong.

Nasri left at the same time as Cesc and they wern't replaced. RVP we didn't think we could rely on.

Fabregas.

We're not missing RVP.

We were missing Fabregas until we signed Cazorla.

"We're not missing RVP."

Really?

Yes, really.

How exactly are we missing him? We're scoring plenty of goals from all over the team.

We are hardly prolific in the league are we?

Do you really need me to elaborate

I'm not going to turn this into another Giroud bashing session but if we had RVP up front vs Sunderland, Stoke and Chelsea we would have at least 5 more points.

Of course we're missing RVP, anybody who thinks different is an idiot.

Batmanu, true but we're only a few games in tbh. We've definitely had the hardest fixtures so far, as the season goes on, we'll score more goals against the weaker sides. At the end of the season, we'll be one of the top scoring side in the league as per usual.

I'm not saying RVP wouldn't improve, I just don't think we're missing him.

For example, look how much we were missing Cesc before Cazorla signed. Ramsey was utter trash and Rosicky was good but couldn't do it on his own.

Can you say the same about RVP? We've got plenty of goals in the side imo.

You could try explaining your point instead of calling me an idiot.

You don't know that.

RVP missed bags of sitter last season, how do you know he would've scored the chances Giroud had?

We're missing RVP, no doubt.
Let's be honest we all tried telling ourselves "we score from all over the pitch", "we're more balanced", etc. Fact is we'd be challenging for the title if we had RVP, with Cazorla behind him.
Absolute bull decision by Wenger to sell him. We don't even need money.

With Cesc it was different because him leaving was the end of an era really when it came to our playing style. We had to alter the way we played so we struggled at first but still had the individuals to get similar results by playing more effective albeit less attractive football.

This season though we haven't changed our style at all, only problem is we don't have a world class striker to get on to the end of all those chances we are creating. Maybe somebody like Giroud or Walcott or even Chamakh will step up to the plate but until then...
