Even Giggs is saying it.
http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2012/Nov/ryan-giggs-says-van-persie-brings-more-than-just-goals.aspx
of course Giggs said that. Did you expect he would say somthing different. I give a shiiit of what teammates saying.
But what he's saying is true. I wouldn't have mentioned it if it wasn't.
Scoring 6 against a tactically naive Southampton side, a struggling League Two side and 7 against a Reading team who's defence was quite simply appalling just covers our lack of firepower up front - we are scoring goals against teams with rubbish defences that try to come at us, but aren't scoring necessary goals when required.
When it comes to stubborn defences or teams of better quality, we struggle to score goals. Probably because we play the same predictable football every week.
Didn't Wenger admit a while ago that he doesn't watch other teams play, he just sets his team up how he sees fit? Unbelievable.
I hate to admit it, but we really are missing van Persie. Far more than I'd anticipated for sure. Up front we are struggling.
He has 9 goals and 4 assists this season in an otherwise slightly above average United side.

I love these little assessments of united by arsenal fans, for years you've been telling us how you're so superior but somehow 38 games never bears this out, keep it up lads.

Earl, you have an average squad tbh. I saw some United fans today saying Anderson was one of the best CMs in the PL and could be their Yaya Toure just because of one decent game against Chelsea's reserves. Is that really how far you have fallen
Exactly Samir.
I've said since the two 0-0's at the beginning of the season, I have seen no evidence of us raising our game to adapt to teams who park the bus. It's the same old pass-pass-pass shiiiiit

I can certainly trump that with some of the claims made on this board over the years about wilshere, cesc, van persie etc etc.
I'll give you Wilshere.
But you trying to say Cesc and Van persie weren't/aren't the best in the PL?

There's a fundamental difference between better players and better team - your manager has managed your players better than Arsene has his. Sorry, but when I look at our squad and when I look at yours, aside from your attacking options, I don't see much disparity in quality between us.
Van persie was in his last season at arsenal, i always thought fabregas was very good but so overhyped by arsenal fans and wilshere needs to get a few seasons under his belt before anyone can make a true evaluation of how good he is/can be.

That's a pretty damning indictment of your manager would'nt you say?

Well of course. This isn't a popular opinion, but I believe Wenger has underachieved at Arsenal when you look at the players he's had at his disposal. He is a very good attacking coach and has a knack for unearthing gems - but he is not tactically proficient and struggles to motivate his players. This has played a pivotal role in our lack of success over the years.
No one is better at developing individuals than Wenger, but Fergie is the master of creating a team, instilling a never say die attitude, using his squad effectively and normally has great tactical nous.
Fabregas was never ever overhyped by Arsenal fans. Find me an arsenal fan who said he was up there with Maradona, that is overhyping for a player of Cesc' quality.

Problem is Verm, some of them probably consider that statement in itself over hyping. The thing is, unless you have an awful lot of time on your hands to watch a lot of football, fans can only really give a proper assessment of theirs own players.
But fans will always be biased towards their own players and claim they are better than other teams players,
Example: I work with a liverpool fan who claims suarez is the best striker in the prem (and by some distance), i asked him to check his goalscoring record with other strikers and goals to shots ratio, but he just shrugs and starts telling me how suarez nutmegs defenders all the time. See what i mean.
It is very hard to get an objective view of a player - you can try and use stats, but that's obviously doesn't tell the whole story. However the unending debate is one of the things that makes football so great.
"I can certainly trump that with some of the claims made on this board over the years about wilshere, cesc, van persie etc etc."
And what were these claims?
RVP and Cesc were/are the best in the Prem, you simpleton.
Tell me how gooners were overhyping Cesc? And what were they claiming about RVP?
Are you serious?? you never witnessed on the old 606 any overhyping by your fans of cesc and rvp?........................i don't believe you, what's more i'm going to call you a liar.
How did they overhype them, you complete and utter, utter idiot?
