It's not just the goals we miss, it's the through balls, the corners, free kicks (indirect) that we'll miss also.
I didn't think Giroud was capable of playing the type of ball he played for Theo vs West Ham, if we see more of that I'll be happy.
I still think to utilise him best, we need to see him in a 4-4-2. Wenger needs to tinker with that, especially in central midfield. If we can get Ade to score 30 goals, we can get Giroud to the same.

It was more than just the goals though, wasn't it. His technique is unmatched by anybody in the country, great set pieces, great passing and vision and sadly a great captain that a lot of our players looked up to. Even if the likes of Giroud and Podolski replace his goals (which they won't) there will be plenty more that they can't replace.

Great set pieces and passing Don't think he was bad at both but he wasnt known as a specialist.
We didn't see much of RVP's creative side last season though, he was pretty much just a goalscorer. I'm not denying his quality but we basically replaced him with Cazorla, Pod and Giroud.
Cos we were rubbish at scoring from them GT. RvP always put them in the right area, we were never attacking them.
He still got a fair amount of assists 8bit.
His corners were good and it's better to have a left footer swinging them in from the right side. Keepers always seemed to make wondersaves from his free kicks.

I mean his passes and through balls from deeper but last season he had to score so didn't really drop back. In 10/11 he was linking up a lot more. He'd be so much better as a no.10 now that he's learn to be a goalscorer.
