TCW -
Chelsea were top of the league, everyone wouldn't shut up about our form and today it's totally different. In 2 weeks it'll be totally different again most likely,
================
What form? We haven't hit any form. We've won points on the board but i have not seen us hit form in any fixture (except maybe Reading away - which was a while ago now).
Werea,
Whilst i agree that its the end position that counts, we should still be able to discuss the performances one-by-one.
Why even comment on this subject if you're saying you cannot make a single contribution to the debate until May 19th?
Grow a backbone & tell us how you judge the team under him, the tactics, the substitutions etc - stop hiding from saying what you see.
Mr C
For the record I was fully behind Harry and the work he did, I couldn't care what he said in the media, results on the pitch was the only thing that mattered to me
To sack a manager with his record was confusing, but I see why Levy did it, I don't agree with it, but we have AVB and we need to be behind him,
Hmm, he wasn't so bad for us to begin with, but then he developed this irrational love of Meireles and Bosingwa and convinced himself that Lampard and Cole were satan. He also handled Alex and Anelka badly (though them leaving was good for the club) and Didier too.
Dunno, I think he went about it all the wrong way with us, but I think he expected more financial support and more general support as well... We spent a lot that summer but we brought in Mata, Meireles, Lukaku, KDB etc... only a couple for the here and now, when really our squad was stagnating fairly badly.
At Spurs, I think he's not had a great start RE tactics but again in fairness I think that he hasn't had a chance to bring in the players he would have liked to. As someone said earlier, Moutinho in would have changed the complexion of your fully fit team:
-------Ade/Defoe
Bale---------------Lennon
---Moutinho-Dembele
------Sandro/Parker
BAE-Vert-Kaboul-Naughton?
-------Friedel/Lloris
THudd,
We can be fickle, we need to be patient and judge a manager at the end of the season
====================
As i just said to Weare, fans should be able to judge players or managers mid-season.
What would be the point of a forum if we couldnt give our opinions until May 19th?
We are perfectly entitled to judge him at any point, certainly after the number of games he has taken charge. The players are getting judged - why should we exclude the manager? We never did before.
Thudd our board have made mistakes in sacking managers too. I think your board have dropped a clanger as well, if I'm honest.
My only gripe is playing 4-5-1 at home, I can't see the logic in it, we need to go at teams and pressure them, when we defend JD can drop deep and help out, or Adey
Away I'm happy with 4-5-1
Dembele, Parker, Benny, Kab, Lloris all in the team, we will be a good side

But the issue is (and not a dig) you have the financial backing of a billionare, and it does make a huge difference, you have quality in the squad and depth! and in Drogba maybe one of the best strikers in that position to grace the PL!
He had a crazy record in finals for scoring goals

Sorry but it simply a matter of fact we have gone backwards. Why is pointing this out 'disloyal'?
Look at the results, watch the football with your own eyes.
You can only suspend your disbelief by so much.
------
you must have missed QPR 1 - 0 spurs at the end of last season mate.
or sunderland 0 - 0 spurs.. wouldnt blame you for falling asleep in that one.
what about spurs 1 - 5 chelsea?
arsenal 5 - 2 spurs?
villa 1 - 1 spurs
we have been playing badly for ages mate
wake up.
Thudd
Harry had to go mate, the way he treated the club over the last few months of his time here was a joke
lets give AVB the jan transfer window and see who he gets in .. William would be a massive buy for us although i guess Chelsea will get him just to stop others from signing anyone ,
Thudd

================
Exactly - and there is nothing wrong with voicing this opinion now, in 2 weeks time or after any other home fixture.
Its just an observation - and a rational one at that.

We wont bid for "William", dont worry about that.
Thudd I was going to point out the money thing. Thats why its more important you get your managerial appointments right isnt it? As always, only time will tell.
"I think your board have dropped a clanger as well, if I'm honest."
Not really.
The final third of last season + his inability to control his talking hole (shut, or open in a manner not affecting Spurs) did for Redknapp.
Jose can do it, because he delivers. Same as it was for Cloughie.
Weare
yes, I do agree if I'm looking at it from Levys point of view, not every fan was happy and I think with AVB it's totally split on how they feel!
Chick, I think this has been heard as he has changed it to a 4-4-2, even if it was the Europa
Chronic
Why are you reeling out last season's poor results & not the good ones?
As my post above says, last season is irrelevant, the season before is irrelevant - why cant you just judge what you are seeing now?
As a passionate Spurs fan, i just cannot imagine you are enjoying watching this at the moment. And i dont know what is holding you back from saying it.

the truth is that unfortunately there was no way back for him after he laid his cards out for us all to see. he didnt give a solitary sh111t about spurs once england came up.
i have no issue with levy for getting rid...
whether or not he replaced him with the right man remains to be seen
Chicken there's a bit of a difference between that and total condemnation... I respect your opinion, but my opinion is that you haven't given him a fair enough chance. Having said that, you're probably put off by his inexperience, his time at Chelsea and his turgid start at Spurs. But there are two sides to the argument and I think falling entirely on one or the other at this stage is silly.
Mr C
I expect RDM to stay at Chelsea for at least 4/5 years, there's no reason to change when you have world class players there, we targeted Hazard, Oscar and Mata and they all came to you
THudd,
Chick, I think this has been heard as he has changed it to a 4-4-2, even if it was the Europa.
==================
I'm not holding my breath though. Are you?
Chicken RE 'form' that wasn't my point at all. My point at all is that 'the here and now' is a terribly short termist way of thinking, while there is some truth to the old adage 'you're only as good as your last game' considering the bigger picture is far more important.
Thudd, come on. Roman's been chasing Pep for god knows how long. Do you really think he'd let him go to City or Utd without trying to snatch him first. Not saying I agree with it but Ive got a feeling that's what will happen.
AVB said weeks ago he would play 4-4-2 whne he felt the players were suited to it so im sure we will see more of it
None of us know if he will succeed as manager but im happy to give him 1 season and levy better back him in jan

this open expansive attractive style we supposedly play is a myth from february onwards.

Can still experience that and be objective.
Pep at Chelsea would be a great pairing, he's young and managed the best players
