Seeing as Messi cant score against us, he might as well score for us.

i said the next day after the european cup final that it would affect us for yrs to come
we would of got hazard if chelsea had lost and would of had plenty of money to spend
took me weeks to get my head round it and still gutted to be honest
TCW
But there are two sides to the argument and I think falling entirely on one or the other at this stage is silly.

In my mind there is never a "silly" stage to judge. We do it all the time with new players, rival club players & even new managers. I'm just not sure why AVB is exempt from it. Why shouldnt we judge him on his team selections? Why shouldnt we judge him on the decisions he makes? Why shouldnt we judge him on his tactics? Why shouldnt we judge him on things that make us say "WTF is he doing that for?"
This is pretty standard stuff for football fans to talk about/discuss & as i say, i dont know why AVB should be exempt from this.
If we had been in the CL rather than Chelsea maybe we would have Hazard and Oscar
It's a scary thought
Messi to Chelsea.. behave yourself ,
"Roman's been chasing Pep for god knows how long. Do you really think he'd let him go to City or Utd without trying to snatch him first. Not saying I agree with it but Ive got a feeling that's what will happen."
Will be interesting to see what happens when Peps' "sabbatical" is other.
IMHO he is not a merc. But no PL club has anything close to the Barca production line (the talent has to come from somewhere) .
Stoke it is then.
Just because it's done doesn't mean it's sensible!
You can judge his performance, but not in isolation from the conditions.

Says the guy that thinks Hazard was on his way to WHL before Drogba scored that penalty
Reckon we would have had Damiao, and Modric staying.
He's not exempt from that Chicken, I think it's fair you judge a manager at the end of the seaon, and on seletion ect, but if we were in the bottom half of the league and not winning I would be with you on your thoughts on him
Redknapp would of stayed as well then presumably. Then AVB would probably be being talked up for the AC Milan job.
Chronic.
but who is to say that by the end of this season with avb's buys in january and dembele back and ade firing that we wont be doing that this season

Yes i agree, who is to say whatever might happen by May 19th - but we cannot all hold our tongues on all things Spurs, from now until then, can we?
Why debate anything to do with formation, team selections, choice of goalkeeper, the high line, Bale switching wings, Ade or Defoe (or both, or anything else? Why not just create a May 19th article & wait until then?
You know why. Its because that is not the way forums work. We have to judge on what we see now - not what coulda, woulda, shoulda happened after May 19th.
I'm judging on what i see now - which is not good enough from what i expect. Can you see my point here?
If we had been in the CL we would have kept Luka and added class to the team
DROGBA
"Redknapp would of stayed as well then presumably."
Yes, and with a new 3 yr contract to boot probably.
Professional suicide of the highest order.

yes i see your point. but you are not being rational
"DROGBA"
Eh ??
I make it not NOT turning ONE of the losses in our last 11 games into a draw as the reason, not Chelsky re-enacting The 300.
I don't get your point quite Chicken, what exactly do you want? Do you want him sacked now? In 8 games if he can't get it together? Where's your threshold?
Interesting question, if we had got into the CL would Redknapp had stayed?
I'm not sure, he would have learnt from the Real game! but I doubt he would have attracted Leandro and Oscar ect
redknapp was gone even if chelsea lost im sure of that
"if we had got into the CL would Redknapp had stayed?"
The FA might have gone for him (taking that season as proof that he can handle the pressure of competing with much better teams than his own) .
"but I doubt he would have attracted Leandro and Oscar"
That is Levy business, not Arry.
Levy had no doubt earmarked the CL piggie trough for NEW PLAYER.
Chronic.
yes i see your point. but you are not being rational

Why not? What am i saying that is irrational? I think i have been pretty contructive in what i have said. What part of my posts (on this article) do you not agree with?
TCW,
I'm just making the point that i believe AVB is out of his depth in our league. I dont see what is wrong with that, or where there is evidence to suggest my opinion is either wrong, far fetched or harsh.
TCW
...just to add...i think the points i've made above back up my opinion of this.
Well a decent amount of evidence points to that. I personally feel like he's suffered a deal of bad luck as well. It's fine to have an opinion, but you never did answer my question about when you want him out. A chance to improve? Injuries back? January transfer window (always underwhelming)?
I guess if you never thought he should have been appointed, straight away. But surely that's too strong.
RDBD I always find it's not just the exsisting squad that attracts talent, it's also the manager who is key
