Better than

rooney..........Yes
Messi...........not better at the moment.
ronaldo........not better at the moment.
xavi..............probably
innesta........???.....if you mean iniesta then yes.

He's without doubt world class and your saying he isn't in the top 5 in the world just showsw you are a fool.
..............................................

What tops it off is the fact that people who don't see what he does are the fools!

He thinks Suarez will be better than Messi and Ronaldo in the future. "not better at the moment."

Even if you completely ignore the mentions of Ronaldo and Messi, it is still a stupid post.

Was it actually serious?

Why are people so quick to say Hazard and Cazorla are world class ?

Suarez is better at both club level and international. He plays for a weaker club side yet still manages to outshine them.

1. Who says they are world class?

2. Not sure that he has really outshone Cazorla. He has this season, but over the last few years? Not so sure.

Never heard ANYBODY call these two world class. Hazard has the potential, but they are both just good players for the time being. I'd actually rate Suarez as better than both at the moment, though Hazard looks a star in the making

posted on 20/11/12

Oh and Hazard scored and assisted 35 goals or something stupid last season, so he probably did outperform Suarez last season.

so we can use certain leagues to gauge ones class but not all ?

I think that the French league is stronger than the Dutch league, but not as strong as the PL.

All you have to do is take a look at Suarez's return in comparison to Hazard's then adjust for the difference in quality.

Even then, it is subjective. Which is why BB used the word probably.

-----

highly subjective ?

dutch clubs have a better qualifying record in CL so maybe you're wrong

posted on 20/11/12

Probably

There is nothing wrong with having a very good player and him not being deemed in the top bracket of world players. So long as he is performing for you who cares?

posted on 20/11/12

Okay then even if Suarez outperformed the French Leagues Player of the Season (in your opinion, because he scored and assisted less than a midfielder) I still said he is currently in the better form if the two.

You aren't going to convince me he is world class unless you can pull up some unarguable stats, which you can't, so give up.

----------------------------------------

1. Is that data inclusive of every year since the CL was formed? If so, its not really the best way to measure how the two leagues compare against each other right now.

2. There are more teams in the French league that are competitive. The Dutch league tends to have just 2 good teams. So whilst they might be better than the two best in the French league, I think that the overall quality of Lique 1 has been higher in recent years.

If a guy is the top performer in his own league and dominated his last international tournament - even winning the thing isn't enough to make you even consider him then fine. I've seen enough over a few years to suggest that Suarez would get in all club sides in the world

yes

one thing that gets completely overlooked is that he played on the right wing of a 4-2-3-1 in Holland. And still scored a mountain of goals. And half the time for country he gets played in a wide position. And the first year at Liverpool he played a wide role quite frequently.

Wide forward (Robben's position) is his best and natural place on the pitch. This striker thing is new for him.

RVP was so much better than Suarez last season. What were you watching?

and dominated his last international tournament

No he never, he was possibly the biggest let downs in the Olympics, he flopped vs a load of kids.

I think he will probably stay at least another season. The club, players and fans have backed him big time and I think he appreciates that. At least I hope he does.
