Stretty, I agree it's not all abut talent, but I don't think his work rate could be called into question

posted on 18/11/12

Not just work rate.

Effectiveness. Attitude. There's a fair few criteria.

I have never once said Suarez is not a very good player, but by no stretch is he world class.

However Suarez is not a bad striker. I would put him on par with Welbeck, Sturridge, Giroud.

Stretty, fair enough, I thought you meant work rate by mentioning Berbatov. As I said I also don't think he's currently world class, but has the potential to if he continues this form

Goblin,

Sometimes debate attracts a wide variety of answers but your responses are just childish and distracting.

You don't understand football, that's for sure

Suarez works hard and always tries to make something happen, he deserves great credit for both.

His Premier League record is obviously improving, but the fact that he is Liverpool's only proper forward means he is playing every week and getting almost every chance created, which is reminiscent of Darren Bent's career.

World Class? Not for me.

I think he is a good Player, nothing more.

Oh, and a bit of a but I like that about him!

Henderson or Arteta. No competition really, Henderson will prove to be a bargain at £16M.

Got to be the most idiotic comment ever.
So Suarez is scoring because he is getting all the chances. You make it sound like a serving of goals and suarez is taking two people's share

posted on 18/11/12

If you play 90 minutes in every game and have no other forward at the club, never mind in the team, then yes you will get more opportunities and should score more goals.

If you find that idiotic, i don't really know what else to say.

Maybe you're right and Darren Bent has been world class for a decade.

posted on 18/11/12

I don't remember Darren Bent winning a major international competition and being voted player of the tournament.

Please don't tell me you're comparing mickey mouse league to the PL. Lets see if he can maintain this form throughout the season. What's so hard to understand about this. He wasn't world class last season was he? Based on stats Ba and Michu are world class as well?

posted on 18/11/12

Oh dear, do you not think that if you play up front on your own then you have to work that little bit harder?
By your logic, you can put ANY striker into that position and it will make him APPEAR world class.
Quite possibly the most idiotic analysis of why Suarez is scoring that I have ever heard

Suarez is brilliant, not sure about world class because it depends on the definition and everyone has a different one! For me though he's very close and if he keeps scoring like he is then he's definitely world class because the rest of his game is class.

"I don't remember Darren Bent winning a major international competition and being voted player of the tournament" --- I don't remember Suarez scoring 100+ Premier League goals either.

"Oh dear, do you not think that if you play up front on your own then you have to work that little bit harder?" --- On the contrary, you don't HAVE to work as much, again see Bent.

There's a Liverpool fan who thinks Liverpool will finish above Arsenal this season
