he is the only player in the liverpool team i do fear, if it wasnt for him theyd be bottom 3 material

Falcao - played in a weaker league than the Dutch league
Scored 34 goals in the Spanish league.
This is somehow more world class than Suarez.
Good logic stretty

Well if goalscoring record is all you're going on, Suarez's is better than Benzema's. Both overall, and at their current clubs.

Is Suarez world class - Of course not.

come on lucas, falcao is an amazing striker, and the portuguese league is not weaker than the dutch league, porto and benfica are both better sides than any in the dutch league

Fabio Borini's Knife (U1217)

Nothing wow about it. I don't think he's world class yet, and if you didn't jump at the copy and paste so quickly, you'd have read the rest of my post.

Stretty made his criteria and chose to ignore it when picking falcao.
Ajax are better than both of those teams

no theyre not

I didn't say he was world class. Merely top five.

he is world class though, as is suarez IMO

Bezema with assists contributed 47 goals to Madrid last year. He is top drawer.

I just don't see how he cannot be, that's all. He did brilliantly at his previous club, has done brilliantly at Liverpool, and also done brilliantly for Uruguay. If it was anybody else then everybody would be saying he was world class. It's like as if this is just meant to be some sort of purple patch that has lasted for years.

Falcao has 49 goals in 60 apps for his current club. Does Suarez come close to that.

Oh so assists matter now all of a sudden. I thought "strikers are paid to score".

Christ, these Liverpool fans sound like 5 year olds. Who gives a flying one? If you aren't winning league titles you can have a squad of 25 'world class' players for all I care.

Suarez is a good player, do you think if people start saying he is 'world class' it will change anything? No, the term is subject to people's opinions, end of discussion.

He was no better than average in his first 18 months at anfield. How are you missing that?

Top five based on what? His goal scoring record is inferior to Suarez.
He played in South America until 23 and had a 1 in 3 ratio until then.
Like most wums, you probably base your opinion off football manager

i wouldnt take into account suarez's achievements at ajax in putting him in the world class bracket TBH(because plenty of awful players have been brilliant in the dutch leaue), but his performances for uruguay and his performances for liverpool in the PL certainly do put him in that bracket, a proper footballer, and is now adding the goals which seemed to elude him last season

They are. He scored 32. If you can assist aswell as hit those sort of numbers then better the player it makes you.

When has Suarez got near that level formliverpool?

Not in a top league it isn't

As much as I don't like the term 'world class'...I don't think Suarez is there yet. He does things no other player does but he's still knew to the league. I'd say give him until next season and see if he can carry this form on. Then I'd put him up there

Just anyone who you would say is up there with the very best.

I'll exclude Ronaldo & Messi though because they are beyond world class.

Mexican, I agree and I'm only mentioning falcao because like Suarez, he has not proved it over 2/3 seasons like stretty suggests they should.
He has an inferior record to Suarez over his career thus far and Suarez is operating in a harder league to score goals.
Both a world class players, but stretty seems to find any reason not to call Suarez world class

posted on 18/11/12

pound for pound, suarez is probably the most important player for his club in the PL atm, because liverpool would be in a world of shiiiiite without him

What constitutes being world class?

I would say being one of the 5 best players in the world in your respective position.

i.e - Messi, RVP, Aguero, Ibrahimovic, Falcao

Then you have the next tier with the likes of Rooney, Tevez, Cavani, Benzema, Higuain, Eto'o, etc.

If Suarez plays like he is playing at the moment for the rest of the season then I would place him in that tier of players.
