Newcastle (somehow third) at home. Rosicky's early shot saved by Given, as was Henry's free kick. Van Persie shot wide. Parker put them ahead. Obviously. Martins had a shot saved, then van Persie played in Henry who decided no more chit and put it in through Given's legs. He then went straight up there again, quick turns leaving Ramage and Bramble for dead () and slotting it across goal.
Bramble saw red for bringing down Henry in the second half and that was effectively game over. He hit the bar with the free kick Gate blocked RVP's goalbound volley. Good win.
Away at West Ham. Ljungberg has an early shot saved and Adebayor heads at the keeper from a corner before shooting just wide. Harewood had a decent effort for them as we controlled the game.
Second half and Tevez has a shot saved, then he miscontrols a cross but with his back to goal turns and fires it right into the top corner to win it for them. Ridiculous. The very least we deserved there was a draw and we've lost.
I feel like I missed out a little in the ps2 days buy buying PES 4 and 2009. 5 & 6 were meant to be the best.
Arsenal vs. Man City. Ljungberg to Rosicky who tucked it in with our first attack. Henry and Vassell both came close, then Henry played through Ljungberg to lift the ball past the onrushing keeper. Henry and Ljungberg nearly made it 3-0 before HT.
Ljungberg and Ribery could've added to the scoreline but 2-0 is decent enough.
PES 4 was pretty amazing too, I just think 6 for gameplay and graphics is that bit better, plus I know more of the players. But some of the players in their prime in PES 4 are ridiculous.
Charlton vs. Arsenal. That RVP volley
Didn't create as much as I'd have liked against the team bottom of the league but Adebayor scored the winning goal, he had a free run through their half, went past the keeper and easily scored. Van Persie shot wide with our best other chance while Thomas' strike was saved by Almunia.
Fulham vs. Arsenal and our best performance of the season. The first attack saw Lauren go down the right and into the box. He played it across to Ljungberg who in turn gave it to Henry to lash in an opener. Rosicky then found Henry who away burst to the right and fired a fantastic shot across goal from outside the box to make it 2-0.
Henry had chances to make it 3-0 but Fulham got back into it, McBride with a shot saved and Helguson pulling one back from a corner. Instantly Henry held off Volz, dummied past Bocanegra and got his hat-trick. Fabregas and Ribery exchanged passes on the left and the Frenchman ran into the box and curled it into the corner for his first Arsenal goal. Ehui stole it off Senderos and made it 4-2.
Henry 8.5, the highest rating I've seen this season. Standards for PES 6 match ratings extremely high.
Chelsea and United are 20 points clear of the rest. We move above Fulham into 6th. If we do well in the last 3 games we could finish 3rd.
Arsenal vs. Villa. In control from the start and Eboue marauded down the right and into the box to slip the ball to Gilberto who fired in off the bar for 1-0. Baros had a shot saved by Almunia's leg and Petrov was denied the rebound by a heroic Toure block. Baros' header troubled Almunia more than it should've but not too much danger. Sorensen made a brilliant save from Ljungberg's shot which was destined for the bottom left corner.
Rosicky made it beyond doubt in the second half after some patient play on the edge of the box, he and Ljungberg looked for an opening and Rosicky eventually struck the ball low into the corner. Berger was denied 1-on-1 by Almunia. Good 2-0 win.
Ljungberg as a SS rather than out wide has been great in the last few games. We're above Spurs and into 5th with that result. Away at Liverpool next and a win will move us above them into 4th.

Facking ridiculous. Gilberto played it into the box, Fabregas got to it ahead of Schwarzer and tapped it in. The ball found its way through to Downing who fired in a powerful strike, then his cross fell to none other than Ray Parlour who put them in front 3 minutes later. Van Persie had a volley saved and Lehmann kept out Maccarone's header. Ribery tore Bates and Southgate a new one and equalised before half time.
They got a dreadful goal to win it in the second half, Ribery couldn't cut out a long ball, Parlour's header was saved but Maccarone got to the rebound, 3-2 Boro. Newcastle and Liverpool won anyway so we couldn't have overtaken them and we still finish ahead of Spurs on goal difference.
Chelsea 75
Manchester United 71
Newcastle 49
Liverpool 48
Arsenal 45 +9
Spurs 45 +3
Boro 43
Chelsea and United in the WEFA Cup (Champions League-ish), Newcastle, Liverpool, us and Spurs in the Masters Cup (Europa League-ish).
Portsmouth and Charlton relegated, Rangers and Celtic promoted.
Maldini and Cafu (and Sheringham) retire.
First pre-season friendly against Watford.
Bouazza shot wide early on and then we dominated. Fabregas pinged a shot against the bar, Henry and van Persie came close numerous times, but Ashley Young put them 1-0 up after Clichy gifted him the ball. Adebayor came on and shot wide but then hit the post and van Persie scored the tap-in. 1-1, thank God it wasn't a competitive game because we wasted so many chances.
Signed Kompany and Nasri Let Lauren go, now thinking I should've kept him to trade.
Second friendly against PSG.
Fabregas' shot was saved by Landreau with our best first half chance and he fired over in the second. Landreau made a good save from van Persie and Adebayor shot over the bar. Good performance, not the finishing.
Traded Diaby for Aguero
Just after a LB now because Clichy's the only natural left sided fullback we've got and he's not a great defender. After Mathieu who was a boss for me years ago on this game and Maxwell who's at Inter and looks great on the ball.
Third friendly. Arsenal 0-3 Feyenoord. No finishing from us again but ridiculous goals to conceded, Almunia's positioning shocking to gift Charisteas with the opener. Aguero had a shot saved and Henry hit the post with a free kick but they scored again with their next attack, Almunia facking it up again to let Hofs score the header.
Castelen had a shot saved for them as did Rosicky for us. Henry came close a couple of times but it wasn't to be and Castelen scored a header in injury time.
Signed Maxwell at least.
Final friendly, Arsenal 4-0 Valencia. Everything that was missing from the previous games. Ribery squared for Ljungberg to open the scoring. Adebayor's shot squirmed under Canizares but was cleared in time. A corner found its way to Ljungberg with his back to goal and he turned and blasted a shot over the keeper for his second. Joaquin crossed for Regueiro but his effort was blocked by Rosicky. Fabregas' shot brushed the top of the bar.
Adebayor met a corner with a header, Miguel and Canizares both got to it but Marchena put it over the line for an own goal. A flowing team move capped it off with Ribery finding Henry to collect the ball and bury a great shot with his first action off the bench.
First game of the season, Arsenal 3-0 Bolton.
Our first attack saw Rosicky give it to Fabregas who bursts past a defender, had a shot saved and van Persie tapped in the rebound. Ribery didn't take long to dribble down the left, cut in and score with what's becoming his trademark. Van Persie had a shot blocked and Ribery hit the bar to see Henry head the rebound wide, but Henry got his goal soon after. 3-0 at the break.
Henry fired a low shot just wide. Jaaskelainen couldn't handle Ribery's free kick from distance but Fabregas couldn't head it in. 3-0, great start.
Apparently we're in the CL group stages or something. Been ages since I've been here, forgot how it works, thought I was in Europa. Newcastle, Liverpool and PSV in my group.
First group game at Toon. Fabregas struck a vicious shot just wide, Aguero forced a save and Henry troubled the defence but Parker's ball over the top wasn't cut out by Gallas and Owen volleyed in the opener.
Rosicky's pass took a slight touch off Aguero and rolled through to Henry to guide in a first time equaliser. We edged it but a draw isn't the worst result.
At home to Boro. Hleb with the first chance, deflected wide. Henry's shot saved by Schwarzer who was on it again. Stekelenburg was off his line to block Mendieta. Nasri dropped a shoulder to beat a man but Schwarzer saved. Just before half time van Persie beat the last defender and took a right footed shot which beat the keeper.
Fabregas nearly scored a great counter-attacking goal in the second half, running most of the length of the pitch but his shot which was heading towards the bottom right was kept out by Schwarzer's outstretched hand. There was a bit of last-minute pinball in our box from a corner but we got away with blocking Maccarone's shot and Viduka gave away a foul. 1-0
Arsenal vs. Liverpool in the second European match.
We were camped in their half in the early stages but couldn't get an opening, Kuyt's shot easily saved with their only chance. In injury time Zenden crossed, Kompany didn't get enough on the header and before Maxwell could clear Kuty sent it flying into the far corner.
We continued to control the game in the second half, Dudek made saves from Rosicky and Henry, but Pennant fed it to Gerrard for an easy goal to make it 2-0. Henry found an opening in the box and curled in a shot off the post to pull one back and in injury time his pass found Ljungberg for a certain goal but he miscontrolled it instead of shooting and we didn't score from the corner. Unlucky loss.
Away at Man City. Cole struck just wide, van Persie forced a couple of saves from Isaksson while Stekelenburg kept out Hamann.
Hleb with a trademark piece of silky dribbing in the second half to get past Beasley and Trabelsi and pass to van Persie to score. Ljungberg then went on the attack, found himself in space and unleashed a low shot into the corner from 25 yards to make it 2-0. Van Persie and Walcott could've added more. Great start to the season continues, top of the league with 3 from 3, van Persie particularly good with 3 goals.
Arsenal vs. PSV in the third group game, we go into this one bottom of the table so it's a must win, and Eboue's low cross found Henry unmarked in a crowded six-yard box to poke in. Stekelenburg made saves from Tardelli either side of the break and blocked Kluivert's shot. Eboue also made a vital block when Culina got a shot away in the box. Hleb was caught by Simons in the box but Gilberto put the penalty wide. Adebayor had an impact off the bench but couldn't score, then Gomes made saves from Hleb and Ljungberg in quick succession. Still a nervous finish as Rosicky couldn't cut out Tardelli's long pass and Reiziger and Stekelenburg both got to the ball, but the keeper gathered at the second attempt.
Arsenal vs. Rangers, first points of the season dropped. Baptista met the ball well but his low drive from range flew just right despite the great connection. Henry's shot was saved and the rebound blocked. Fanfan was lucky not to give away a penalty for getting tangled with Henry but not the ball.
Van Persie fired wastefully wide and Henry's shot was saved and deflected wide. Could've been worse as Boyd blazed over with their only good chance. But we could've got all three points.
