Away at Liverpool. Henry had a couple of early sighters saved and his low corner found Rosicky who crashed a shot against the post. Adebayor hit the bar from an angle and Ljungberg's was saved on the line by Dudek. Freddie did well on the left and pulled it back for Adebayor who miscontrolled slightly with his first touch but adjusted and volleyed in with his left foot. Brilliant finish, he looked very gangly and therefore realistic. Fabregas scored but 1-0's good enough.
At home to Man City. Decided to rest some of the more tired, important players for Chelsea. We didn't create enough, Adebayor with a header and a shot which weren't too troubling and it ended goalless again. Gotta get a win against Chelsea now.
We started well at Chelsea, with Henry, van Persie and Fabregas all having effots saved by Cech. However, Boulahrouz played a long ball which Drogba chested down and hit into the far corner. We responded well and Rosicky weaved through the defence and played it to van Persie who turned and equalised.
Both sides had chances, Essien's strike was saved by Lehmann and Lampard stabbed the rebound wide. Rosicky could've shot but played it to van Persie who checked his run at exactly the wrong moment and Cech claimed. Hleb won the ball, turned sharply in the box and Carvalho ploughed into him giving Henry the chance to power in the penalty and make it 2-1 which is how it stayed, great result.
me too! How else would they have filmed the snowman?
Fulham at home. Lehmann shouldn't have let a shot go behind for a corner and Helguson headed them in front. Henry looked certain to score but Pearce deflected his shot onto the post. Henry and van Persie couldn't hit the target as Fulham went into the break 1-0 up. Van Persie tested Niemi a couple of times and Lehmann saved from John but finally we scored, van Persie playing it to Henry who hit it first time. It finished 1-1. We've only won 2 out of 6, they've been against the best two teams. Still unbeaten.

Everton. Shocking start and Beattie helped it on and van der Meyde volleyed over Lehmann. Took a while but van Persie skipped through and levelled just before half time. Beattie's shot was heroically blocked by Senderos and we found ourselves in front when Henry flew past Stubbs and Wright and tucked it away. Van Persie then teed up Henry for a brilliant shot which curled in from 20 yards. 3-1, great performance.
Away at West Ham in the first leg of the cup. Sheringham was twice denied by Lehmann in the first half, and between those chances Gilberto found Baptista who guided in an accurate 20 yard shot. Van Persie and Baptista nearly made it more and Diaby wasted our best chance when Ljungberg set him up 6 yards out but his shot was too close to Green. 1-0.
Unbelievable game at Portsmouth. Ljungberg gave us the lead with a cool finish and Fabregas set up Henry for 2-0 before the break. Fabregas and Rosicky nearly made it safe and we looked home and dry as Portsmouth barely got in our half.
However, with 10 minutes left Kanu somehow broke away, left Toure in his wake with a feint and forced Lehmann into a save, and Mornar got one back with the rebound. Then with minutes remaining Senderos gave away a pointless corner (my fault ) Mendes took a shot, it deflected off Senderos and Rosicky and Lua Lua rushed in to make it 2-2. We still could've won it, Ljungberg forced a save from James, it fell to Aliadiere 3 yards out and he insisted on taking a touch which gave them time to get back and block it
United visit Highbury. We were really poor first half, Park had one shot saved by Lehmann, another blocked on the line by Gilberto. Neville, somehow found himself on the left, burst into the box and beat Lehmann with a great near-post finish. We only had one good chance, Henry set up van Persie saved who was denied by a brilliant van der Sar save.
Rooney nearly finished it but his chip was inches too high. We switched to 4-3-3 which changed things. Van Persie crossed for Henry who met it with a header, too close to van der Sar. Rosicky picked the ball up, turned past Fletcher and his left-footed 20-yard shot flew into the top right corner. He nearly added an assist with a great ball to Henry but he shot at van der Sar. With just two minutes left Adebayor backheeled to Henry lost it but then got it back, pushed it past Silvestre and lashed a shot high into the net to put us ahead. Evra got a half-decent shot away but it was easily saved.
I was out of my chair for our goals, brilliantly struck and so dramatic
Eboue and Toure suspended, Fabregas and Rosicky on internationals for Villa away. Don't get why random players suddenly go on international duty.
Henry had a shot tipped round the post by Sorensen but we went ahead, a passing move ending in van Persie setting up Henry to blast home. That's how we doubled our lead in the second half too, an even better move, van Persie with the final ball (his 5th assist of the season, top of the rankings), Henry with the finish (his 9th of the season, joint top of the rankings). Henry nearly got his hat-trick on the break but Mellberg pulled one back with a thumping header. A nervy finish but we didn't crumble, 2-1 win.
Second leg of the cup at home to West Ham. Cole had a volley blocked on line by Hoyte, but Baptista played in Flamini to slide it home from close range. 2-0 on aggregate, could've been 3-0 if Denilson hadn't hit the bar from Ljungberg's late cross.
We travelled to Bolton in the league where Lehmann saves Davies' early chance. Henry grabbed the opener, making it look easy with a goal from 20 yards. He made the second look even easier, picking it up from Gallas, turning and curling it high into the net from the same position as the first. Eboue's run allowed Gilberto to claim a tap-in and finish it off in the second half, 3-0.
Blackburn started well as Pedersen was only kept out by a great Lehmann save and Roberts headed against the post. Rosicky took a shot from outside the box which hit the bar, leaving Friedel stranded as Henry headed in the rebound. Van Persie hit the bar before half time. Rosicky had a shot saved by Friedel who was unlucky again as this time van Persie reacted first to make it 2-0 and seal the win.
We had a great start against Wigan Ljungberg forced a good save from Kirkland, Henry forced an even better block from Scharner with the rebound. Kirkland then denied Henry three times. Wigan created a few decent chances in the second half, Lehmann dived to keep out Johansson. Connolly had a shot saved and McCulloch shot just wide. Ljungberg had a few decent chances but it ended 0-0.
Unbeaten but third in the league at the halfway point. 8 wins and 7 draws, 5 points behind leaders Chelsea, 2 behind United.
First of three in a row against Spurs, away in the first leg of the cup quarter final. Jenas was sent off in under 2 minutes but we couldn't take advantage, Henry forced a good save from Cerny and Hleb shot wide with our best chances.
Transfer window before the next two. Somehow signed Lahm, that's the fullbacks sorted.
The home league game and Jenas may be suspended in the cup but here he crossed to set up Berbatov to put them in front with their only decent chance of the game. Henry hit a brilliant curling free kick but Cerny dived to keep it out. In the second half Cerny made great saves from Henry and Adebayor as it looked like Spurs might nick a win. However, Henry is the man for the occasion and he stormed through the Tottenham half, beating three defenders and selling the keeper a dummy to level late on. Ljungberg connected well to send a shot towards the top corner but another save saw Spurs hold on to a point.
Home leg of the cup and Ljungberg set up Fabregas for a simple opener. Murphy had Lehmann diving to keep out a great free kick. Walcott's pace caused them trouble and he was kept out twice by Robinson. Rosicky nearly made it safe and a passing move saw Walcott shift it to Flamini who finished well. 2-0, through to the semi finals.
Away at Newcastle. Adebayor's shot is well saved by Given and Baptista hits bar with the rebound. That came back to haunt us as Solano played a 1-2 with Parker and scored. We quickly got back into it, Adebayor and Baptista linking up and the Brazilian finishing well. Emre had a header blocked by Eboue on the line, Lehmann scrambled for it and Gilberto put it into his own net to put Newcastle back in front. We made the changes but had to wait until the 90th minute for Henry to cut in from the wing, have his shot saved by Given but head the loose ball home. 2-2.
