Greatteams, yeah that's what I meant by ruining it.

In my opinion, Ja606's greatest strength is its relaxed moderation rules regarding off-topic articles.

It shouldn't be changed because of one or two idiots that pop-up very rarely.

Henrik's

And its almost impossible to have a debate on things like Politics in writing. Debates like that need to be vocal with an intermediary - like on Question Time.

Thing is, don't get me wrong - I really enjoy debating. And would happily enter a debate on gay marriage, race, religion etc...

I'm just not sure that this is the appropriate forum for such debates.

For example, the primary reason for being here is to discuss football (or other sports) and your favourite team, with fellow/rival fans.

I think in many ways its good that the admins have allowed the 'community' to develop through other avenues though (good news/jokes whatever).

But I'd find it much less appealing to have football conversations with individuals who I find to be hateful/bigoted whatever... So in a way I'd prefer to just not know their views on political/civil matters etc.

It's not a criticism of the admins at all, they do a fine job. I was more using their role to emphasise the problem really.

I quite like the idea of a general thread for people that want to air non sport related views. The debate in question had something like 700+ posts and it descended into irrational, bigoted rambling nonsense. I would defend anyone's rights to spout it (so long as its legal) but not in a sports forum.

Philspurs, yeah I can completely understand that.

Having read through that thread there was nothing racist said just a hell of a lot of bear beating to try and get him to say something. Pathetic. Looking for a reason to be offended. Greatteams, Mexican, can't be bothered to list the rest. Only one who seemed to be trying to genuinely have a debate was SKA and some other dude.

Chicken - because I'm SCARED of them ok?

There's one standing behind right now, isn't there...

Spot on, and I personally couldn't give a toss if someone is homophobic racist or whatever. It doesn't affect or bother me in the slightest. Maybe it's an age thing but I think people in general have gotten way too sensitive

Evenign Don

I liked Weare, but it looks like he was very explosive, and sometimes posted things he did not really mean. I pleaded on his behalf to get him reinstated last time he was banned, but it seems he never learned his lesson. Having said that you need one or two controversial characters to make the boards more interesting.

I myself have had my run-ins with the admins, but I tend to think I am taken far too seriously by a lot of posters who have had me banned from their boards. They need to lighten up a bit.

Admins on the old BBC 606 were far worse than the ones on here.
Anyways, having watched Brazil put 3 past Spain at the refurbished Maracana, I hope Pualinho does in fact arrive at WHL. We need him.
And we need Sandro back again at full strength.
BTW, anyone know about Sandro's condition?
Then, with Bale on board and the young German fellow as backup (wots 'is name?) we need a replacement for BAE (who's had it IMO) and a couple of new center forwards.
Then, with Hugo in goal, we're in great shape!
