I didn't say "its wrong", i'm saying that it is "offensive", which makes it unsuitable for forums like this.
One of my mates has turned a bit strange since he has been attending "Life Courses" and he now has some really strange opinions on people who get cancer. He now believes it is all in the mind and only weak minded people will suffer from the illness.
Now although he is entitled to his opinion, he has been spreading this opinion all over FB (i'm not even on FB by the way) and he is offending people left, right and centre.
All i said to him was this, whilst it is not a problem having a controversial opinion like this, but similarly to Hoddle who had his beliefs about disabled children, if you have an opinion that you know will cause offence - then you are better keeping it to yourself.
If you believe its fine to murder innocent people, steal from your own granny or anything else, then its probably better you keep this sort of stuff away from people you know will be apalled by it (i.e. the high majority).
This is not a "who is right" or "who is wrong" debate, its about decorum, using common sense and sensitivity.

Exactly. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and beliefs, but there are some you simply cannot share at all due to the nature of them. I'm not pro-weare or anti-weare but the things he said are out of line, controversial and discriminative
The thing I have most problem with is not the views, but the hair trigger on offering them up without any thought whatsoever.
JPB is another one with this affliction.
I don't understand it either. It's not the sort of thing you'd say in public whilst being 100% sure that someone won't get offended/kick off over it so why say those things on a moderated site?

Tis the nature of some people (which I will not judge) .
