hnic, please tell me what is this utd cast off player worth ?

by all accounts he is not the player he once was ?

---

Which is why you will pay big bucks for him, you bought Torres for 35M and he was finished at that point.

Its not so much what you value him at as opposed to what United value him at.

They have no reason to sell to Chelsea so why would they accept anything less than a stupid bid?

So Rooney has been left and confused having carefully negotiated an article in the Daily Star?

Rooney gets left confused by alphabet soup...

I see Coleen got another load of abuse from a bunch of keyboard warriors last night, is this what you want Wazza? Just make a statement instead of hiding in the shadows ffs

And do you think United care about Rooney's "happiness", all they want is to sell him to the highest bidder ideally outside of this country. If they were to get a silly bid they would consider it.

But you must be having a laugh if you think we will accept anything less than atleast 35M for him.

United don't want to pay Rooney's loyalty fee (hilarious that he'd get that if we sold him tomorrow) and want him to hand in a transfer request.

Then he shall be sold to Chelsea and we can go about our business this summer.

This whole thing will be resolved in the next 7 days methinks.

I love how Coleen keeps tagging Rooney's twitter user in her tweets and telling the donkey's to go talk to him

I guess CHelsea made a low bid to try and unsettle Rooney a little more first and will probably make a second bid around 25 million.

And for the United fans arguing the contrary, why have such a high earning unhappy player on the bench losing value?

utd stick one back at chelsea

Remember, most see Rooney as a player who is unfit, not on form and unhappy, so if he does stay at United makes no difference to us, we did ok without him last season.

So the point is if anyone wants to buy him, he still has 2 years on his contract, if we are to consider doing business for him it will have to be for a big amount.

If in the meantime Rooney gets upset, he may hand in a transfer request, but I dont think he will.

To be fair...I am not the biggest Wayne Rooney fan out there and have not been for a while, but I find it absolutely hilarious how a few of the ones that are now chasing him out with torches and pitchforks are the very same ones who were licking his arris when he was our top scorer 2 seasons ago even after the 2010 debacle - hypocrisy at its finest.

It seems as if people are willing to jump on the media bandwagon in order to build a case against Wayne Rooney just because everyone else is doing so.

Not to say that he is completely innocent, but is waiting until we at least hear something from the horses (Rooney's) mouth too much to ask?

To prove a point. United has never bowed to player demands, (ironically with Rooney the first time) but seldom agrees to give player power. Now as the club said they arent afraid to sell the player for less in say a years time. Just look how much we got for Berbatov.

HNIC, You were discussing figures from 50m upwards on the other thread. 15m plus Mata you said. You valued Mata at 35m so the total deal according to you should be around the 50m+ mark. Why the sudden change to "atleast 35m"?
As I said, it wont get to anything more than 20-30m, 35m maybe. Not the figures you were throwing about. Delusional

-------------------------

But wouldn't it be better to cash in on him? If he's being paid so much and commands such a high wage, you're talking at around 35-40 million in total if you sell him for 25 million. You can fund more necessary players with that while balancing the books.

He is second to RVP, it's a simple fact
--------------------------------
Rubbish

He plays as a number 10 behind RVP, just like he did with Welbeck the season before RVP joined

Rooney has never had a problem playing the number 10 role or he would have said something earlier when he played behind both Welbeck and Berbatov

This isn't a case of the club isn't a big enough place for both of them, they can play together quite easily, with both being up front.

Welbeck was the player who suffered the most with RVP's arrival. Rooney's place didn't alter one iota with the arival of RVP

Rooney's problems are more the fact he has been, at times, covering for an inept midfield or inept wingers last season and it has nothing to do whatsoever with playing at number 10

This playing second fiddle to RVP that the media seem to be pushing out shows that the media have very little knowledge of Rooney's role at the club of late.

In the last few seasons Rooney only played as the number 9 for one of them, where he played in front of Berba and that season, he became known as a tap-in merchant

Clueless

Because you havent offered Mata. Now if you put in 35M thats a starting bid, it will then be increased.

The delusion is coming from your club thinking they will get him for around 20 to 25 million, just wont happen.

As I said before we're not Arsenal and in no hurry to get rid of Rooney.

This is a club so stupid who paid 35M for Torres, now thats delusion for you.

Chelsea is still a joke of a club though

They must think were stupid enough to accept anything less than what he's worth.

If they dont offer anything above 35M we will just make him rot in the reserves, no biggy.

Mr C

Well you won't be getting Rooney then. £35M at a minimum. If you think we would sell for £20M then you're just as delusional.

I dont think finances are that big a deal, despite the debt the club are doing great in terms of revenue. They clearly see Rooney as an asset and dont want to lose him unless they get what they want.

Now on the other hand they dont want to strengthen Chelsea, but if they have to, it will have to be for a big sum.

I still believe we hold all the cards here.

Bit of a longshot, but, could this be Rooney's way of telling the management to sort the midfield out? I.E, he's unhappy doing their job, and wants some more quality behind him?

I'm betting that to any team rather than City or Chelsea, 25 million would be enough. How much they will demand from Chelsea I think we shall see in the next three days.

posted on 17/7/13

Remember Chelsea wont be the only club in for him, Arsenal would even put in 30M as they have done so for Suarez. PSG and Monaco will be interested, hell even City might be in for him. He will have takers.

posted on 17/7/13

I've said on another thread that if Rooney wants to leave all he has to do is buyout the remaining 2 years of his contract out which would cost him about £25-28 million. Chelsea could then offer him a £30+ million signing on fee.

posted on 17/7/13

A lot of this depends on Fabregas too. I think if United cant sign him, Rooney wont be going anywhere.

If they can sign Fabregas I think United may do business at around 35M with anyone willing to buy him.
