It doesn't mean they wont go and play a creative style of play either
I do see then analogy that you are making Simon and the football that we played with Duff and Robben was very pleasing on the eye but we don't currently look like that, although with a few tweaks here and there - who knows?
Mourinho taking a pragmatic approach in the bigger games does not mean he plays boring football all the time Some people are just clueless. But that's the things opposition fans only see the big matches of Mourinho, so have no idea of some of the good football that was played on put first two seasons with him, Real Madrid, Porto and Inter. But hey Let's watch one big game of Mourinho playing a deep counter attacking game and extrapolate that to being his style of play in every match.
He didn't do it at Madrid, a team that is famed for that sort of creative football with flair, in the Spanish league, so what makes you think he'll do it at Chelsea in the premier league?
He turned Madrid into a devastating counter attacking side, which can be attractive to watch, of course, and his history would suggest he'll do the same with Chelsea, as he's shown this season as well.
It's just his style, it'll be successful, so fair enough. I don't know why people think he'll change his philosophy all of a sudden. He could, but it's unlikely.
The Chelsea team between 2004-06 were an incredible team who at their peak destroyed teams and played some great football.
Chelsea fans get so defensive () about Jose. Just because people are saying he won't play like Barca or Bayern doesn't mean they are saying he'll play like Stoke or that it's negative hoof ball (apart from some Arsenal fans).
You hang out with the La Liga fans too much
Definitely a lot of IOAG in you right now
His style of play with RM was very similar, in fact I'd say even better than Bayern's (in his second season there), then I can think of Bayern's at all during that period. The only gripe the fans had was during the bigger matches he would take a very tactical approach of setting up solid then to go out attacking. Bayern did a similar thing against Barca, set up deep then attack with pace the same tactics that were deployed by Mourinho against them but with Messi playing as well.
No, I've just been watching La Liga for years and Mourinho's Madrid were a very un-La Liga like side, despite being a brilliant team.
I'd say Ronaldo has a massive influence on that, however.
Not sure what style of play you think Bayern play
The emo of Real Madrid fans
Their possession play is very creative, I don't think Mourinho's teams really play on that level.
Not saying they aren't capable but you can see the difference between the way Arsenal, Liverpool and City play, for example, is different to Chelsea due to the philosophy of their managers. Tippy tappy if you will.
Liverpool's style is kick it up to Suarez and see what he does hardly a unique way of playing among 1 man teams
City's style is take it to the byline and hit a really low and hard cross into the middle and see who gets on the end of it
He hates Mourinho. I like Mourinho, brilliant manager, and his football is better than many will give him credit for, I just don't think it's his mantra to play football in that way.
Brum, I'm actually at home but I couldn't answer you straight away as I am borrowing the Mrs's laptop and she wanted to play her facking bingo game
Summer
I agree with Darren btw
City's style is hardly unique in the premier league
You should think yourselves lucky you don't have to watch David Moyes' football.
