4 years then...you were above us the first 2 seasons but we have been above you the past 2.We are currently a point apart this season. So again value wise we have the best value for money squad here and now 7th jan 2014
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So if you add in the trophy in those four years, with our equal league performance, our superior squad value and our better squad, Liverpool have more value for money. You're getting there Phil.

You do realise the question is about the squad as it stands now,not as it was 2 years.5 years or 10 years ago.Value for money for the 1 point difference in the league here and now.

We are both in the fa cup 4th round both out of the league cup and both never were in europe.

What value is that point difference in squad costs

I refer you to my earlier post re internet bravery.

If you lack the moral fibre to stand your ground better to cease posting.
You obviously do not possess the required debating skill to dismantle the opposite viewpoint, resulting in your insulting language.

You have made yourself look extremely foolish on several occasions tonight.
Get yourself a backbone young man

TOOR was the squad that won the league cup the exact same squad it is today.

How can you compare the value of the squad in terms of league position this season when most of the players of both squads were bought in seasons previous?

How can you disregard the achievements of previous seasons, to determine the value of each squad?

That's ridiculous?

Or can we do it like this?

Mignolet £8m
Johnson £5m
Skrtel £5m
Sakho £15m
Enrique £7m
Lucas £10m
Gerrard £4m
Henderson £8m
Coutinho £15m
Suarez £80m
Sturridge £20m
Agger £8m
Allen £8m
Borini £5m
Aspas £5m
Sterling £8m
Toure £1m
Kelly £5m

£217m

Howard £1m
Coleman £8m
Jagielka £3m
Distin £1m
Baines £10m
Barry loan
Mccarthy £8m
Barkley £15m
Mirallas £10m
Pienaar £3m
Lukaku loan
Heitinga £1m
Oviedo £4m
Hibbert £1m
Osman £2m
Delofeu loan
Jelavic £5m
Gibson £3m

£75m

I mean of course there will be a debate a couple of million either way for each player but the gap is massive.

Oh bore off. Do you use a soap box to climb onto your high horse? I could not disagree with you more and you just writing things does not alter the fact that not once have you addressed the points made by myself, Righteous or TOOR.

You're awful at debating and trying to take some moral high ground just highlights what an utter poón you are. It's just the truth and deep down I suspect you know it. If you don't like the insults filter me or stop being such a mincer.

If I've broken some unspoken hallowed ground of insults on the internet I might as well go for it and tell you that I'm surprised you type so quickly with that wand on your head you complete spaktard.

Can I not include the players who were here? Should I just take them all out? Would that help you?

you understand but you won't answer the question. As it stands today who has got the better value from their squad for the 1 point difference in the league.

Simple question to answer even for you

I understand what you're asking but it's ridiculous. How can you judge the value of the squad on this season alone when most of the players were bought in previous seasons? You've moved from two years to four years and now you're onto this season only.

posted on 7/1/14

Alright, players bought in previous seasons don't matter, however we have to use our squads. Err I think I get it, let's see.

Liverpool have a squad of

Mignolet £8m
Johnson £5m
Skrtel £5m
Sakho £15m
Enrique £7m
Lucas £10m
Gerrard £4m
Henderson £8m
Coutinho £15m
Suarez £80m
Sturridge £20m
Agger £8m
Allen £8m
Borini £5m
Aspas £5m
Sterling £8m
Toure £1m
Kelly £5m

£217m

But since we're only counting this season but have to judge the squads, it cost us £22m net.

Everton's squad

Howard £1m
Coleman £8m
Jagielka £3m
Distin £1m
Baines £10m
Barry loan
Mccarthy £8m
Barkley £15m
Mirallas £10m
Pienaar £3m
Lukaku loan
Heitinga £1m
Oviedo £4m
Hibbert £1m
Osman £2m
Delofeu loan
Jelavic £5m
Gibson £3m

£75m

Cost you -£7m net.

So we are above you and have a better and much more valuable squad, thus were better value for money.

Did I get it Phil? Or at least did you see how stupid you were?

posted on 7/1/14

every season squad personel changes in some cases massively. So pound for pound you can only look at the current situation in squads assembled and current position.

As I said earlier this is a question that should be asked and answered at the end of the season when the league placings are finalised and trophies been awarded.

Here and now with the squads assembled by our current managers who is getting more bang for their buck if you parden the expression

posted on 7/1/14

Phil, it just doesn't work. You can't compare value for money in the squad if you just take this season into account when most of the players have been bought in previous season. It's ridiculous. Can't you see that?

We all know who the stupid one is on this debate don't we.

Paying more to get basically the same does not equate to having value for money.

Good try but no cigar

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The players each club have at their disposal for the current campaign. The cost in transfer fees and wages for both clubs incurred and the sheer numbers of players available, who has had the better value of said squad in this campaign.

Try wriggling out of that one

posted on 7/1/14

But it's not the same is it?

We have won trophies with the money we've spent and have a better and more valuable squad.

Players like mignolet, sakho and aspas were not just bought for this season. All a decent age to play for liverpool for the next few years, same with mcarthy for everton so why would we judge young signings on their 1st half of season. Also we replaced 2 older players in reina and carragher with 2 international players and kolo toure on a free was decent aswell. Everton will have to spend to replace distin howard osman in a couple of seasons without recouping anything like we will with reina

So are we just judging the value for money of players bought this season? I thought it was the two squads, at least that's what it says in the article.

where does it say that?

You can be as obtuse as you want, but you know we are currently out performing you in what both squads have achieved so far this season compared to the costs in fees and wages both squads have cost.

Nothing to be ashamed off,but if we pip you to 4th I'm sure you will come up with some sort of excuse

Taking into account the outlay on transfers for the 2 squads.

Which team got the best value for money?
