Mata played 64 games last season to get that many goals and assists, a lot of them against easy teams in the Europa League. His stats are still amazing but Cazorla got the same number of goals in the league and only 3 less assists Santi's more skillful and a better dribbler, 2 footed as well which is underrated.
I like Cazorla. But I don't think he's as good as Ozil (something Arsenal fans will know more about than I do) and I think Mata and Silva are better too.
What I should add is that Arsenal are the only team who possess two such players and their statistics (if we want to view it that way) would be diminished as they can't both create a goal in the same instance, no matter hiw talented they are!!!

Carzola is a fantastic player, but I'd chose Mata over him all day. However, I'm not so sure if I'd say the same for Ozil [the form he had in La Liga] - If he can bring that to Arsenal, as he needs better strikers up front, he'd be the best in that position in my eyes in the league.

But the main defence of your opinion was using stats (when you claimed you don't need them).
He scores more and assists more, if you think this makes him a better player, than fair enough.
But I think Cazorla has a better skill-set which means he's more versatile. To each his own.

Its so close between those two I think Mata's overall passing game is better but Ozil is the best at short triangle passing.
Shooting I would say again close but Mata is just a shade ahead. I know Ozil is very good at shooting but rarely does it.
Mata's pace I think puts him far ahead of Ozil in terms of physicality and presence in the opposition half
I think Mata is better and United got a better deal especially considering you poached him from a PL rival.

I like Cazorla. But I don't think he's as good as Ozil (something Arsenal fans will know more about than I do) and I think Mata and Silva are better too.
