Can breaks the lines excellently and although his passing range is not great he's not bad at the short stuff.

I think he has goals in him at some point as well.

We need to play him the way Germany played him against France. I taught he had some good moments that game...just final stuff let him down.

Can made more errors than Moreno leading to shots or goals and yes I think suggesting that Moreno will derail our teams season farcical because it is.

I just checked sqwaka and it's saying that the fifth most errors in the league was Stones on three so Moreno is less than that. In fact sqwake says he made the grand total of two.

In terms of at the club Liverpool made the most defensive errors in the entire league but do you know who made the most interceptions?

Yes Moreno on 63.

Do you know who the top defender was for creating chances?

Yep - Moreno on 61

As said - farcical.

Stats are only one small facet of the game and are often misleading.

Statistically Dejan Lovren was the best defender in the premier league in the 14/15 season. Anyone who had watched our games in that season would know he was utterly hopeless that year.

There are plenty of others that should take the blame also but Moreno is a problem for us at the moment.

He reminds me a lot of Danny Rose from a couple of seasons ago, made countless errors but has eventually improved into a decent full back. Not eradicated all his mistakes but has cut down a lot on them. I hope Moreno follows a similar pattern but I don't see it happening personally, it's a big risk we will take if we do decide to stick with him.

We're going to play 3 at the back anyway so Moreno's won't be exposed as much.

So are you saying that he made more than the two errors then or that he in fact made more than Can or even that Moreno's two errors supersede the other 59 made by the team as a whole?

As said fI find people acting like our season is at serious risk because of Alberto Moreno farcical.

Given that we've been chasing a teenager with little to no premiership experience I'd say Klopp agrees.

It isn't at serious risk because of him

Which is my point.

Who can we get who is realistically an upgrade on Moreno though?

Guereirro and Digne have moved to more attractive clubs (at this present moment) and there's no way of knowing if they'd flop.

Cresswell is injured and would cost a fortune, Chillwell opted to stay and break into the current champions' first team, no one had heard of Hector six months ago and now he's the best thing since sliced bread.

Moreno may not be perfect but I don't buy into the whole he's the worst LB in the league vibe that I've seen on here. My concern is that we're going into the new season with only one recognised left back with only a midfielder and an untested CB as cover for him.

I agree LGT. We have seen Clyne play there and quite well too if needed but we're not exactly flush with RB's either!

posted on 4/8/16

I firmly believe that moreno is a severe weak link as he simply won't follow any plan as his mental capacity is that of a grape.

he is frankly a liability.

Alaba is going for 80m euros apparently.

Bargain. Although doesn't he tend to play CM more often than not these days?

Brad Smith.

Nope... Got to admit it's a bit of a tough question as he never made a league appearance for us.

Is it farcical to suggest he played a pretty major role in us losing the EL final?
=====================

Is it farcical to suggest he played a major role in us getting there?

Fact is as a team we didn't defend well as a unit. Moreno is clearly TOLD to get forward as Coutinho cuts in and provides little to no protection for him. Have you EVER seen Coutinho or Ibe or whoever double up on a player to help him? Ever?

Defending is systems and to blame it solely on one player when teams can coach and train overloads shows a shocking knowledge of the game or at least an appreciation of it in my opinion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's seems you have a real soft spot for Moreno. You're completely ignoring his real issues, and that's his brainlessness. He has at least one 'mad moment' a game, Klopp has even commented on it. He's rash and unreliable, and though he can attack with speed, his final ball is usually very poor.

posted on 4/8/16

I'm not ignoring them at all I just think people are going over the top highlighting every weakness or mistake and never the plus points. He had good games towards the end of the season for example.

It does remind me, however, of when people used to talk about Lucas' 'stupid freekick in dangerous areas'. Actual events leading to goals were very rare.

If you can name me a better left back that we can sign I'm all ears.aqqp
