He is injury prone but he is a very good defender. He is quick and dominant in the air.

There are not many young defenders with his attributes.

Gerrard did i guess.

Lost that bit of explosiveness though. The long range shots also diminished.

I just think it is a risk when VVD is coming back from a career threatening injury and we have biscuits and wafer as the other options and then to add another defender with so many injuries.

This is it...but we generally shop in that high risk market.

Add Kabak for 18m and we will have the next set of defenders for the next 10 years.

All muscle injuries too. It will be like signing Ox again. I know I should not moan cos we are spending but we have to act smart.

I’d like to think that the medical staff from both clubs have been in contact and we’ve been assured that whatever issues he has will be resolved. I really hope so cause I find it hard to believe that after the season we’ve had that we would take such a gamble.

yeah and we will say the same to any club who wants to buy Ox next season

No idea how true it is but I have seen people say the main reason he missed so many games was due to a misdiagnosis which led to him playing before he was ready, and exacerbating the issue.

If you look at his injuries on transfermarkt it does seem to be mainly from the same injury.

I guess if we don't like things at the medical, we'll walk away like with Fekir

Yay another defender that loves the treatment table

Konate would be a good signing, seems like he would be an improvement to Gomez at CB. I'd hope with Matip, Gomez and Konate that they'd all manage to get through 38 games between them.

I wonder if that means Matip is on the way out then now.

We can fix Konate in the same was Phillips overcame his injury issues:
