Firmino and Mane aren't the same players they were in 2018 though, both have been poor for a long time.

Theyre not gd enough when theyve been given a start are they, our championship cbs have done a far better job when thrown in than minamino and origi starting.

Decline in player performances as they get older is usually a sign of the trajectory that the player is not what they once were at their peak.

This is not a call to sell either Firmino or Mane...but they definitely need more competition. Jota was a good start. We've had a whole year to find another...but now we're leaving Klopp to hedge his season on Origi and Minamino again when we know for a fact that he doesn't really trust them.

In the second half against Chelsea, I know that they are an excellent team (favourites for the league with City I think having seen them more closely), but who was on the bench would you bring on and be confident they would change the game?

I firmly believe Klopp wouldn't go and buy, just for the sake of buying. I don't doubt he's always in the market looking for somebody, but he wouldn't just buy a forward because it seems "necessary" to buy a forward.

It's all well and good saying he doesn't trust Origi and Minamino, possibly true now because they are certainly on the fringes, but it's not as simple as "sell and we will find someone else". Which attacker is going to join Liverpool to effectively be 5th choice that's better than what is currently there?

Robertson barely got a game in the first 2-3 months and was firmly behind Moreno in the pecking order, for example.

Phillips was excellent in the final weeks of the season, compared to the expectations of him.

We wouldn't be in the CL if it wasn't for Nat and Rhys, we have a lot to thank them for.

You literally wouldn't have even noticed that Origi, Mina or Ox had been missing from last season's squad if they weren't there.
