Rys, Nat and Ben are being compared to Origi, Minamino and Ox FYI Robbing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You only have to be able to trap a ball to get a call up for your country these days and none of those have ever been capped and never will be.
It's pretty laughable to put them in the same breath tbf
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not capped (as if that is a thing) but outperformed them last season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Haha fvcking hell.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You really suggesting that Nat Phillips didn't outperform Origi, Minamino and Ox last season?
Phillips was excellent in the final weeks of the season, compared to the expectations of him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Phillips yeah, but Rhys? Ben didn't even play.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In fairness Ox barely played, we shipped Minamino out on loan and Origi was awful. Could be argued that Rhys outperformed them as he played quite well towards the end of the season, helping us get CL football.
Not sure why Davies is even in this debate as he's barely an LFC player.
The fact I'd forgotten Mina had even gone out on loan in the second half of last season just proves that.
Rhys and nat did better with their chances last season than origi and minamino who went on loan even mina at southampton didnt impress me as much as nat and rhys. I think nat could establish himself as a top mid table prem cb and might even get an england cap one day, worse cbs have. Rhys is younger hes done alright with us, but rn maybe champ level.

It's moot because they're poor footballers who in no way fit our system and Konate has the potential to be top class.

Nat and Rhys were a consistent centre back pairing when we had our best string of performances towards the back end of the season.
Ox barely played, Origi barely played and Minamino was at Southampton.
What exactly are you trying to suggest? Rhys and Nat clearly had a bigger impact on the team than the other 3 mentioned.
Yes and do you know why they rarely played? Because the front three were'nt injured for months.
Seriously, this is the most bollox debate I have seen on here in ages. It's so woefully thought out simply to try and reinforce an already shiiiiiiit point.

But even when Firmino and Mane were poor, they played every single game. The reason? Nobody in the squad was a better fit aside of Jota, who ended up being a brilliant bit of business.

I firmly believe Klopp wouldn't go and buy, just for the sake of buying. I don't doubt he's always in the market looking for somebody, but he wouldn't just buy a forward because it seems "necessary" to buy a forward.
It's all well and good saying he doesn't trust Origi and Minamino, possibly true now because they are certainly on the fringes, but it's not as simple as "sell and we will find someone else". Which attacker is going to join Liverpool to effectively be 5th choice that's better than what is currently there?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why did he buy Konate then when we had Nat, Rhys and Ben?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because he felt he needed a CB to improve the starting XI, obviously...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But we have CBs that can sit on the bench already in the squad. Why buy someone for the sake of it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because he improves the starting eleven, as I originally said. Just because he hasn't started yet doesn't mean the long term plan isn't to put him in the team.
Robertson barely got a game in the first 2-3 months and was firmly behind Moreno in the pecking order, for example.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If all fails bring in the Robertson example
If Konate improves the defence (debatable) then a forward improves the forward line in 3 months
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's debatable if he does, but I think he's an upgrade on both Gomez and Matip personally, but Klopp has had a history with some players of not just throwing them straight in and being a regular i.e. Robertson, Keita, Jota etc.
Well no it doesn't, it comes down to who you sign. I don't think you understand the practicality of what I am trying to say. Just because one thing is applicable for one player, it doesn't automatically apply to every other situation as well.

Fred should contact Mane Man, he can get his hands on some serious gear. Trouble is I think he’s taken it all himself….
So to summarise, there's no chance that there's any player in world football who can, either now or within the next couple of years, surpass Mane or Firmino in our forward line.
Cool.
Question for Robbing, do you think Minamino and Origi are viable back up options if we lose our forward options at points in the season?

I don't think they're very good no but I also don't think it's as simple as that.
I am very happy with our squad as it's a very good one and that, ultimately, is the point.
Would I like someone brought in, for sure, we all like a shiney new signing, but I suspect there is a reason we get very few transfers wrong, if any, so I trust out management as well as our players.
If others don't then fair enough but I will take issue with people talking utter sh!t and making stuff up.
In fairness, cold meds aren't exactly the pipe

Nat and Rhys were a consistent centre back pairing

I mean this isn't even true ffs. He didn't play from January onwards.

Yes and do you know why they rarely played? Because the front three were'nt injured for months.
Seriously, this is the most bollox debate I have seen on here in ages. It's so woefully thought out simply to try and reinforce an already shiiiiiiit point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Robbing two of the front 3 were in absolute dire form too....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Firmino actually ended the season in decent form.
