It's actually a very insightful read. Give us a look at how the club is run in the background as well.

They spent all that time to explain we are sell to buy. Some people have too much time.

Self-sustaining.

wage to turnovers remained around the same mark for 10 years.

it did seem like a huge jump, at what point did they decide to hire 600 staff? of that 326m wage bill if you add up playing staff wages its around 130m so considerably less that half of it is on our 25man squad.

ofc theres bonus payments for winning big prizes. but how much is that usually set at?

https://www.givemesport.com/1544832-liverpool-players-set-to-receive-tasty-bonuses-when-they-win-the-premier-league

this claims 4m shared between them for the prem and 7m for the cl. so not that much at all really.

That might be team bonuses but there's also personal bonuses.

Van Dijk gets the same bonuses scoring goals as Salah for example.

posted on 6/9/21

I think it was reported he's the only defender in the squad with that bonus clause.

posted on 6/9/21

yeah but even being generous its not gonna equate to much more of that 196m remaining, we must have some pretty well paid staff

Coaching staff must have bonuses too I imagine

96m net spend under klopp in 6 years. not including loan fees of which we've receieved some tasty ones inc 6m for a year at wolfsburg for origi for example.

Theres no denying we've been run well since Klopp came in and Edwards. Theres no doubt be careful what you wish for is worth saying. Just look at Arsenal.

However to continue we are still up against it, and will need miracle work again from Jurgen to compete because thats what it has been.

So we're at a point with fsg where we settle for that, theyve taken us far as they can. Theyve turned us around since signing Klopp (before that it was still kinda a mess with comolli and moneyball etc) but Rodgers and Suarez offered some hope. We've closed the gap on Utd massively too so are in a much better position to almost going into admin .

With fsg theyre never gonna ruin us like Hicks and Gilette but theyre also never gonna operate like City or Chelsea etc. Though chelsea have become a bit like us in that they sell to buy now too, but they invest in literally 2 squads worth of youth and have over 20 players a season on loan .

I accepted most of this long a long time ago, Klopps happy the footballs positive then im generally happy. I don't need to win stuff or sign expensive players to enjoy watching my team. Any trophies we beat the likes of city to is a huge added bonus and something to be even more proud of our club for.

I do think people need to be more thankful that FSG and Klopp have managed to build such a successful side for the money that has been spent and the money the other clubs have spent as well.

I'd much rather the club continue the way they are at the moment with the success that has followed as opposed to trying to compete with City, Chelsea's and even United's spending when that model wouldn't be suitable for the club.

Yeah, I think fans are just going to have to accept we’re never going to achieve long periods of ‘total dominance’ winning trophies City style.

When Klopp leaves, then what though. We go back to top four mediocrity?

Fair enough I guess. Just wish we could have won a title with fans!

We watch more football. That's it.

I don't think Klopp's departure is imminent, but we all know it's closer than what it is further away really.

But it depends on the squad that is left and who takes over from Klopp really. It's impossible to say at this point really.

Top four isn't even mediocrity. League one is.

I didn't really get a choice to support LFC, it was given to me, but I'm incredibly lucky.

Imagine having to support Everton. Or Tranmere.

If people don't like it they can switch or have second teams or whatever weirdos like that have.

I think you REALLY underestimate how generous our bonuses are.

For instance Salahs wage is around £200k a week no? But it worked out at £400k a week the year we won the league, and no other big team would balk at paying someone of his calibre that money.

I believe Virgil's was the same, I was reading about firminos goal bonuses the other day and it's

£25k per goal first 5, £45k per goal 6-10 then £65k 11-15, then £85k per goal over that. When he scored a hat-trick against arsenal in Dec '18 he earnt roughly £120k on top of his basic 70k a week!

The year he scored 27 goals he earnt £1.7 million from goal bonuses and I believe I read it was recorded as £2.7mil from all his clauses combined in the accounts that year, almost doubling his wage, consistent with reports on Virgil + Salahs contracts.

We are EXTREMELY generous with performance bonuses, far far more than other clubs offer, which offsets our lower basic wage.

So when you see £130m of basic wages on transfermarkt/football manager just consider that bonuses routinely lift our players up to double their wage.

The player Amortization reflects what I expected to see too, big jumps every 3/4 years as we seem to budget to fail FFP 1 year of every 3 year window, then make up for it the following two years by spending within our means

I expect us to spend a bit next summer as a result

Also, all these contract negotiations will be reducing that amortization "loss" each year by spreading their remaining value across the new contracts.

We've been saying for a few windows that we're expecting a big window and it hasn't happened.

We won't spend in January, we very rarely do.

I find it utterly bizarre that so many people on here are content to just watch football and don't want to see their team progress or in our case capitalise on our already excellent position.

Sort of thing we'd have laughed at Spurs / Arsenal fans for a couple of years ago.
