Good article and sums up pretty much how I feel. Especially this snippet:
"Klopp though is the man who ended the drought and having also secured that Champions League success and a first ever FIFA Club World Cup, if anyone is going to steer the Reds to more glory then it will be him.
In that respect, FSG should also be striking while the iron is hot and backing the manager while they possess an individual of such rare talent."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He has been backed. Klopp has never once given an indication that he is unhappy with how we operate. He has gone out of his way to praise the transfer team and the way we operate and getting in players he has wanted. The day that Klopp even hints that he isn't happy then I may change my opinion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If he wasn't happy, he isn't the sort of person to ever say it publicly. So a bit of a moot point.
I don’t think people are complaining as such, just a bit disappointed that our owners haven’t pushed the boat out a bit and strengthened the squad.
Also seeing all of our rivals improve whilst we stand still a bit, you can see why our fans are a bit miffed.
Fans don’t care about contract extensions, all we want is improvement and competitiveness in our squad to challenge for trophies.

People were definitely happier when we had Hodgson and brought in the likes of Konchesky and Poulsen. Far less moaning than now when we spend hundreds of millions and win Prems and CL's.
Really weird.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well this isn't true. Those were the most miserable times ever as a Liverpool fan, at least in my lifetime. Talk about an exaggeration.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And yet people still didn't complain as much as they do now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------Based on what, 606, Twitter? I really have no idea how you can compare then and now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well clearly based on here/bbc606.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd be amazed if that was the case, considering there's only a handful of us on here these days compared to then.
Can only speak personally when I went most the home games under Roy where we lost regularly. Half the fanbase had made their mind up and were complaining about it when we appointed him, rightly or wrongly however you see it. Then there were protests every week about getting the owners out. Utterly miserable.
Just not true at all so we'll have to disagree about that.

We've been saying for a few windows that we're expecting a big window and it hasn't happened.
We won't spend in January, we very rarely do.
I find it utterly bizarre that so many people on here are content to just watch football and don't want to see their team progress or in our case capitalise on our already excellent position.
Sort of thing we'd have laughed at Spurs / Arsenal fans for a couple of years ago.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So obviously you’re not content to just watch football. The owners are not going to change how we operate any time soon, we’re going to keep spending what we earn, they’re not going to saddle us with any big debt in order to fund transfers.
So as you clearly find this approach unacceptable and think that anyone willing to accept it ‘bizarre’, what are the likes of yourself, T!tty, Kash et al going to do about it? None of you go to games so you can’t give up your season tickets in protest. So basically you either accept how the club is run and enjoy what happens on the pitch, or you take your pick from Unite, City and Chelsea. Cause those are the only clubs capable of giving you what you want.

There's a difference between being disappointed and so utterly disgusted I'd stop watching or supporting the club.
Still immensely proud of this team and love watching it, just wanted us to sustain this period of success and feel like continuing the evolve the squad is the best way to do it and I don't feel like we have in the past couple of windows. Jota and Konate great signings for the future, but two or three more in that time would have enabled us to start building a team beyond the one we have currently.
Ruben Neves, Raphinha, that sort of player being added to the squad would make me feel like we are a little more future proofed.
Ah well, it didn't happen so it doesn't matter.

Rightly so by the way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's the point though isn't it?
With Hodgson the football was absolutely dire and he came out in the press pretty much saying we shouldn't aspire to more! H&G took us to the brink (in relative terms). Damn right we moaned then.
Now we have some fantastic players. One of the best CBs the club has ever seen, arguably the best. A prolific forward who's strike rates we'll compare others to for the rest of our lives. Two of the best full backs in Europe, one of which is an academy product. We've won the CL and EPL in the last 3 seasons.
What do we actually have to moan about?
A missed opportunity to improve? It's not exactly H&G level is it. Plus we don't even know if it was the right decision or not yet. We might win the league or the CL for all we know. The team is certainly good enough.

I think a missed opportunity to improve is enough reason to be raising an eyebrow or feeling a little disappointed. Pretty much all football fans I know outside of here have raised an eyebrow at our lack of activity and every Liverpool fan I know is a little disappointed we haven't done anything.

If he wasn't happy, he isn't the sort of person to ever say it publicly. So a bit of a moot point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet you’re happy to assume he isn’t happy? Klopp is certainly no ‘yes man’, and whilst he isn’t going to directly criticise the owners, we’d have heard something on the grapevine. Which we haven’t.

Spot on Naby, agree with all that. Some on here are just trying to rewrite history that we barely moaned under the Hodgson days, when the moaning was its most toxic levels the club has ever seen and rightly so as you say.

20/21 - £2m on Ben Davies
19/20 - £7m on Minamino
18/19 - £0
17/18 - £75m on VVD

13/14 - £0
12/13 - £25m on Sturridge and Coutinho
11/12 - £100k on Danny Ward.
Not exactly big spenders in January are we. We've spent on first team quality players only twice in the last 9 years unless you count Grujuc, Davies and Minamino as first team quality.
Taken from transfermarkt.
And we'd have signed VVD in the summer if we hadn't facked off Southampton...

Ffs
Ben Davies, Ward and Grujic have played a combined 10 league appearances for Liverpool, we very rarely make impactful signings in January.
You cannot argue that point.

I think we've won 12 of the last 14 too, others being draws. Something like that, two more very winnable fixtures up ahead. Love it.

20/21 - £2m on Ben Davies
19/20 - £7m on Minamino
18/19 - £0
17/18 - £75m on VVD
16/17 - £0
15/16 - £6m on Grujic
14/15 - £0
