Bertrand for £8m would be the worst transfer business in the history of the club. If Rodgers wants to try him out then loan him, then there's no long term damage done.

I prefer Flanagan at left back than Bertrand. He can't defend and isn't great in attack either. At least Flanagan can defend.

Benatia-Sakho would work great.

Sakho has all the physical and technical ability but no brain, Benatia has everything so would marshal the rest of the defence.

Agreed toor, atm we havent improved our first 11 imo, only the squad, (coutinho/lallana rotate), would be so happy if we signed some decent defenders, tbats our weak spot, people say its our attacking style that makes us concede, yet alot of it was due to stupid individual errorsy also citys defensive record is very good.

Lallana is an improvement to Allen/Lucas. I don't think BR will put Lallana out wide.

It worries me that we spent £35m on our defence last summer and ended with Rafa's back 3, a youth player and mignolet.

I don't mind Bertrand myself but he wouldn't get in any of the other major clubs teams like Arsenal, Chelsea or City.

I do like Rojo of Argentina but have only watched him 4 times in the world cup.

Lallana was bought because of Coutinho's inconsistency.

Still think Couts is the better player though.

Yet br kept playing coutinho next to hendo in the diamond.. and put in some top quality performances, vs arsenal city and everton.

Coutinhos defensice work is so underrated, tackles so much the kid does

Going by last season we will have Gerrard or Can deep with Hendo and Lallana slightly in front and Sterling or Cout to complete the diamond. BR has said he wanted more goals from midfield and Lucas/Allen and Hendo provided 4 goals in total last season.

Or he will keep coutinho in midfield for certain games, he played so well next to hendo.

lallana played as much as coutinho did in midfield last season, played lw like coutinho aswell, not sure why he should suddenly be tossed away and not trusted

I think it will be Gerrard deepest. Hendo & Can/Coutinho/Allen as the "shuttlers" and either Lallana/Coutinho/Sterling at the tip.

Although I think we'll see more of a 4-3-3 next season.

I would have thought that Lallana will play where Suarez did and that will be that.
