The clear majority of our gaols conceded came against bottom half sides which we set out to beat 6-3, 5-3, 4-3, 3-2, etc.

Our defence is underrated IMO (not that it's brilliant mind) because of the total conceded stat which is greatly skewed by our tactics against the weaker sides.

We looked like we were going to concede every time the opposition came forward, regardless of who they were, particularly towards the end of the season.

I agree the defence needs work. Having Reina and Mignolet will be good as I think Mignolet could have been better in some situations last year so having that pressure for the no.1 shirt on him should hopefully raise his performances.

The Skrtel-Sakho partnership clearly isn't working. Very worrying stats last year something like 29 goals conceded in less than half the league season they'd played together?

We seemed more solid with Agger there, although I understand he'll be moving on? Don't think Rodgers has him in his plans any more.

I highly doubt Reina will be at the club by the time the season begins. Also any partnership with Sakho in was going to be a bit of a struggle, he's a new player and partnerships take time, which is why people think Agger made the defence more solid, as Sakho wasn't partnering him. Skrtel was our best defender last season and Agger our worst. Agger was poor in the air and it cost us a lot. Sakho made a difference there.

I think Agger may be sold but I certainly wouldn't be against keeping him.

Calm down, dear. Lovren is a quality player and he's (hopefully) going to sign for us. I don't see what there is to whinge about.

Its concentration more than anything imo...not helped by the fact that we have Glen "I've been playing in a coma for the past 2 years" Johnson, Martin "Fúck positioning lemme just lunge in for the tackle" Skrtel, Daniel "I'll just ignore my marker and any ball played in the air" Agger & Jose "im always half asleep" Enrique

I though statistically Agger-Skrtel was our tightest defence, but that's just going off what others had posted

People say skrtel is better because he scored more goals, however he also scored a few own goals and made more errors leading to goals than our other defenders, his "net goals" (scores minus own goals and error leading to goals) was one lower than aggers "net goals"

Personally think skrtel is a calamity waiting to happen, we will always have a weak defence with him in the team.

Also think reina will be gone, Atletico will come in for him, they already enquired but weren't happy with the price, we will drop it, is be surprised if he went for more than 5 mil, napoli have already moved on to other targets due to price too
