Think its pretty futile using things posted at a particular time in a particular moment. Or is term trying to say Newcastle weren't clearly the better team for the opening idk 50/60 mins of the game?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's one thing to say we have been bested, it's another to collectively slit your wrists and top yourselves off in a suicide pact. Honestly it's embarrassing and I'm sure people know that, they just can't help themselves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jasus, at no point in reading them comments did i imagine people slitting their wrists and topping themselves.Nor do i take it that seriously or think its embarrassing or w.e. Certainly not so much that i'd feel the need to dig it up and repost it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You were one of the most enthusiastic participants so not surprise you feel like that. It's a lack of impulse control.

People react in different ways iaccept it, on a football forum designed for people to express their feelings/opinions on the topic of sport/football. Might not agree with it all but i'd rather read that than this sheit tbh.

The forwards are our biggest strength though

Indeed, which is why it’s a riddle imo. Early days with 3 new midfielders though.

Compared to our left back

From the Liverpools fans comments, I am guessing they dont rate Scotlands first choice left back.

Trust me you are getting a fabulous young player with a great attitude and a big heart.Gutted he is leaving but to reach his true potential he had to move to a better League.

Won't be long till he moves onto a bigger club for more money either.Best left back in Britain and £25m is a steal.

He's a very good player but perhaps not what you want from a full back these days when you want them to be providers. Although strange that during a time when they have their right back inverting, he wasn't first choice considering his strengths are in defence and his time as a centre back for Scotland. Probably points to them going back to the left inverting when Zinchenko is back up to speed.

I’ve always liked Tierney but he’s extremely injury prone.

Anyone else reckon we’ve got the best front 5 in world football?

We we absolutely blessed upfront with the number of options we have up front. Could see that in pre season where they pretty much scored all of our goals.

If we can just get that balance with our defence and obviously try and keep 11 on the pitch, we could have a great season. As Carragher said yesterday, just got for it and see what happens.

Quite possibly. It would be a struggle to match our attacking options in quality and depth.

In terms of depth, very possibly. Although beyond Haaland and Alvarez, it’s difficult to say which are City’s forwards/attacking midfielders. We’re a little more defined.

Bayern got a decent attack

Kane, Sane, Gnabry, Coman, Musiala, Muller

I think its too early to call ours the best

Gakpo has been a bit hit and miss
Nunez from incredible to average at times
I like Jota but he divides fan base
Diaz is class but not at Mane level yet

Just catching up with the comments after a result I'm sure we're all buzzing with.

My thoughts:

- stick with the inverted role. We're 14 unbeaten and although there is work to do on the system it'll look a lot better after the three brand new midfielders have played ten games together.

- really pleased for the players. On here at least they've had an awful lot of pelters about not caring, and not not being bothered and even bizarrely claims that they've lost hunger as a result of winning trophies. We've gone behind in 5 of the last 12 games I think but rescued 12 points from losing positions. That's good.

- we look fitter than last season. Fitness is not quite everything in football but you're nothing without it.

In summary we usually start the season pretty slowly, and that's because the preseason and training are geared towards peaking at the end of the season. It's all about results atm and we're getting them. The next six fixtures look very winnable to me, but there really are no easy games. I feel many forget that.

We've a top ten squad in world football (happy for people to try and name 10 better squads if they disagree). That is also good. Hopefully we can go on a winning run now.

We need to change how we press in the inverted system tbh

posted on 28/8/23

We don’t keep many clean sheets in this system, that the problem. As Gary Neville said, we are too rash at the back atm, even with how experienced our back 4/5 is. Still too many mistakes.

Yes the system still needs a good DM. Too early to judge Endo but yesterday he was lost and that was before the red card.

posted on 28/8/23

Yeah endo struggled massively with the pace of the game, but was to be expected. Not his fault.

I wouldn't be against the inverted role if we had signed the right players for it but we haven't. And while we are 14 unbeaten primarily using it, in these last two matches with 10 men we've been playing without it and been impressive as well. I hope we see both going forward, makes us much harder to prepare against.
