Seeing as we have Villa up next, didn’t Emery do a number on the inverted play with a man on Trent for most the game? Hopefully Klopp has a back up plan, which I’m sure he has.
Everybody puts a man on Trent these days lol

I wouldn't be against the inverted role if we had signed the right players for it but we haven't. And while we are 14 unbeaten primarily using it, in these last two matches with 10 men we've been playing without it and been impressive as well. I hope we see both going forward, makes us much harder to prepare against.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Every team is playing inverted now. We need that extra man in midfield now via inverted role.
Not every team is playing inverted, and even if many are trying it's not going to be the right system for every team.
A lot of Arsenal fans seem to want them to stop inverting with Partey from RB afaik but I haven't seen their matches So have no idea how it's really going.

Anyone else reckon we’ve got the best front 5 in world football?
We we absolutely blessed upfront with the number of options we have up front. Could see that in pre season where they pretty much scored all of our goals.
If we can just get that balance with our defence and obviously try and keep 11 on the pitch, we could have a great season. As Carragher said yesterday, just got for it and see what happens.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d say there’s a case for saying we have some of the best options in terms of variety, but it’s a little early to be saying it’s the best in terms of quality. Need to see what they produce this season before that conversation starts.

The principle of inverted is to get that extra man in midfield to gain an advantage. For Arsenal it worked with Zinchenko. Spurs are trying Porro while United are trying AWB
We have the best player for this role in Trent.
I'd love a surprise signing this week. It would give everyone a proper lift I reckon.
Already looking forward to Villa! I'd go the same team as the weekend but with Gomez for VVD and Nunez for Gakpo. It's a home game and I feel Nunez gets more out of Salah than Gakpo does, plus I just like watching him play. I'm big fan.
Be great to go into the international break with ten points. We've a really good record against Villa and the way they set up can really play into our hands. Another week of training for Endo, AMA and Szoboszlai together will be good. With the defence and attack being changed a fair bit I feel some consistency is key in that area, especially with them all being new.
Get back from the internationals and Konate, Bajcetic and Thiago should all be available plus VVD back.
How longs konate out for then? he been ruled out for the villa game?

€162m for Salah. A month ago I think we would have entertained it but now not a chance.

That’s about 139 million Sterling, no thanks.
You sell Salah and then go to West Ham for Bowen for example. We all know Moyes is going to say 100m.
We should have bought Diaby when we had the chance even if it meant he would be backup for a year.
Yea, Liverpool, United, Spurs, Chelsea might all regret not going for Diaby I think.
Right forward is probably the weakest position in football at the moment.

Yep exactly that. Tbh even at €500m I wouldn’t be accepting a bid for Salah at the moment.
We should have bought Diaby? OK, Let's see how Diaby develops then.
Keep hearing this. We should have signed so many players who are now nowhere to be seen.
Then if we sign Diaby it will be why did we sign Diaby?
We’re see him next weekend, looks a player though.

So we're many others we kept hearing about on this thread. We shall see, but there's a reason why these players first go to clubs like Villa and Brighton before a joining a big club. Majority never live up to the hype.
Next summer Diaby will only be a year older. When Salah goes I now suspect we will sign someone who is ready I think, not some prospect.
I thought you meant Mr Glass when you said Diaby π
He was such a quality player, but probably the most injured player I’ve ever seen π
