Well if it did have an effect it’s pretty unprofessional from the players. What’s next, we just let them off with hostile atmosphere’s at away games?

Personally I think it’s bollox and based on absolutely nothing tangible whatsoever.

Anyway crowd and flag day aside what about tomorrow?
Hard to call at the moment but I’m going for a nervy 2-1 win to keep the race going as any more dropped points and the rotund female will be warming up her vocal chords

Also wolves could cause arsenal a problem or two later
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wolves have quite a few injuries

So I don’t think so.

I have no idea what we will do tomorrow but I guarantee we will start the game slowly, again.

Fulham are going to be extremely difficult. They’ve got a fully fit squad aswell and we’ve struggled against them in every game this season.

Arsenal will beat Wolves pretty comfortably I think. Not Neto or Cunha for them so no real goal threat.

Might be a bigger gap after this weekend unfortunately.

If you like Term, but it would have been unprofessional of them wouldn’t it

Are we just going to excuse getting battered away from home because the atmosphere was exactly as liked now too?

It’s nonsense imo.

With Salah being dropped and that performance Id say it’s more likely there was a dressing room bust up, and I don’t think that’s happened either.

I also don’t think our players are completeand as much as the crowd can give you a lift, unless they’re booing I don’t think it can have the ‘opposite effect’.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re saying people are blaming the crowd for the defeat, but as I’ve said numerous times they’re not. The one’s exaggerating are those that disagree that the crowd can have an influence, and that’s pretty bizarre.

You’re creating false narratives. I’m not bothered that people disagree, just don’t make things up that haven’t been suggested.

One thing I would say is that I’m not sure the players have been particularly professional in their approach during the last few games. I hate the phrase, but you wouldn’t call them ‘mentality monsters’ at the moment, would you?

I’ve no idea. I said before the Palace game that the players would give a positive reaction and then the same before the second leg.

Third time lucky maybe?

4-1 to us!

Fulham have a lot of legs in midfield who are fit and fresh. Let's hope Endo has had a good rest cos we can't have Mac at 6.

Mac needs a rest. He looks absolutely shattered.

Well if you want to go down that route I’ve not actually said people are blaming the crowd so…

Generally speaking I feel this is a fairly intellectual thread but today is going against that .

There is myriad reasons why we lost so badly to Atalanta. I think the crowd is one of them, confidence is the main reason and I feel losing to United the way we did and then not being able to beat them in the league contributed to it.

But there are likely many many other contributing factor and I’ve never said otherwise.

Nothing that I’ve written equates to false narratives or anything like you’ve suggested. It’s okay not to apologise, but you should probably re-read my comments.

Looking for a reason(s) for a defeat is almost as pointless as the tedious need to blame a player for every goal we concede.

There’ll be loads of reasons, some of which will be obvious to us as fans and some of which we couldn’t even guess at because they’ll be kept in club or involve the private lives of players.

You’re basically replying to people that are saying the crowd plays a part, so to say that you haven’t said that anyone isn’t blaming the crowd is rubbish, and using semantics.

And with your ‘what next’ comment you’re grossly exaggerating what anyone has said.

No need to apologise? WTF is that nonsense?

So no one is supposed to discuss why they think their team lost a game?

May as well shut the site down then.

Atalanta played a mid block and just pressed us in a zonal structure and defended man to man in midfield and defence. We just couldn't pass through them and we used the goalkeeper to play long balls. There was a stat which said Alisson had the second most touches of our players after Konate. They knew Konate isn't the best passer of the ball and allowed him time and space. Those Italian coaches are very good at exposing opponents weaknesses.

It's the right time for Klopp to leave and we badly need some new tactics and change from this 433 system. I don't think this current midfield is build to play 3 in midfield with a single pivot when you don't have a dominant mobile DM. We need to get the recruitment right in the summer.

Yeah peak Fabinho and Wijnaldum would have seen this team flourish tbh.

i wouldnt say couldnt salah missed a 1v1, elliott should have been played in 2/3 times by gakpo alone for a 1v1 1stt leg....

Personally I’d say there is plenty more football related topics to sustain the site. But that wasn’t the point I was making.

This whole discussion kicked off as a result of a comment about the ticket protests looking foolish now. Looking for singular reasons or latching onto something like protests is pointless.Imo of course, others disagree.

I know you’re not doing that btw, you just seem in a feisty mood today

konates a decent passer, so long as its a ground pass, him lumping it long he should be fine anytime a pass from him comes more than a meter off the ground imo.
